County keeps Scott, Waste Management cries foul
The Logan County Fiscal Court voted Tuesday to stay with Scott Waste Services as the county's solid waste provider even though they were not the lowest bidder in some of the services.

Logan County has made a serious and suspicious decision
to give the refuse management contract to Scott Waste.
Residents will regret this decision, and The News Democrat and Leader should investigate what was behind the vote, which smacks of cronyism and favoritism.
Here is a letter that I have just emailed to the Bowling Green City Commission members regarding my experience with Scott Waste. The company has has some how fashioned a monopoly in the region:
Once again, Scott Waste Monopoly has NOT collected my trash, located at the rear of my property in Bowling Green. This is the EIGHTH TIME in three months that they have not picked it up. Now the overflowing can will sit there and stink until next Friday unless YOU order Scott Waste to do their job and empty it! I demand that you authorize an adjustment on my bill, which the Scott Waste Monopoly has refused me.
I have paid more than $20,000-- TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS-- in CITY/COUNTY TAXES since 1988 on this property, and THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REFUSE COLLECTION OVER 24 YEARS. I NEED HELP! I was just hospitalized with a heart seizure, and the cardiologist asked what has been upsetting me lately. My answer: the dreadful monopoly, Scott Waste! Why should I pay for a service I do not receive? I have made 30 documentable complaint calls to Scott Waste since January, eight calls to Mayor Joe Denning, and four calls to Michael Morris, Scott Waste Monopoly district manager regarding multiple issues including 1. No trash pickup 2. Refuse workers who dump their cans and carts into the unattended, wide open AGR fraternity dumpster behind my property instead of hauling the waste to the garbage truck 3. Refuse cans that are left in front yards, along curbs, or thrown in the street instead of being put back behind houses, out of sight 4. Refuse workers that practice "snaking," whereby they'll block traffic on busy Park Street by stopping in the middle of the street, and run to both sides of the street at once, instead of properly working one side of the street at a time, as Michael Morris told me they are ordered to do 5. Trash dropped from cans and refuse trucks that workers don't clean up as they empty containers. I consider the poor service of Scott Waste Monopoly to be damaging to the public health of Bowling Green residents, because the environment they are creating through sloppy, careless collections attract rats. I also feel that my repeated complaints have made me the target of harassment and poor service by some Scott Waste Monopoly employees that is ultimately injurious to my health and well being.
When I approached one Scott Waste employee to ask him to put the cans back behind the houses, a service among several for which we are charged, he replied that they "ain't gonna do that for the big, rich college boys."
Scott Waste Monopoly is making the campus neighborhood--and perhaps all of Bowling Green--look like a slum, which will result in reduced home values. A law suit is in order!
Pay attention, Logan County residents--the inept service of Scott Waste in Bowling Green may be coming your way.

I have never had any issue with Scott Waste. You are a crazy person. You had to be hospitalized because you're mad at the garbage men? Ha ha ha!! You are insane.
Trash cans aren't supposed to be taken back to the rear of the house. If you take your refuse containers to the curb, they'll leave them there. If yours are behind your house, they'll leave them there. They also aren't going to pick up every last speck of trash that falls from a can.
I think you're full of crap but I wouldn't blame them if they were picking on you. You sound like a real pain in the ass. You say that they are harming the public health? Ha ha ha!! Like you would know!!
Get a grip you crazy old woman.

Shes Exactly Right!
I also experience the POOR service forced upon us by SCOTT WASTE! In the past several years since SCOTT WASTE has been our trash collector I have not gone 6 weeks without having to call them because they did not get my trash! Although they walk thru my back yard to get the house on either side of me since I am on a corner! As I type this my trash sets outside in the can now a full day after the scheduled picup and after me calling them to report it! Which they assured me it would be picked up today! It hasn't! Nor did they pick up the small bit of sticks put up by the road! They leave it every time! That stuff will set there 3 to 4 weeks before being picked up! You would think that after my having to call more than once or twice, much less every month or so for the last several years, that they would make it a point to rectify the problem. Say something to the crew or what ever it takes to correct this! They simply dont care and I too am fed up with Their HORRIBLE SERVICE!

That is what happens when a company hires idiots who didn't complete high school and had no higher goals than to stay off unemployment.
Find out where the district manager lives, take your trash and dump it on their front step, pea on their door knobs and take a big crap on their flowers!
Oh and if you can spit in their water...yea, yea, spit in their water. hahahahaha

This problem goes beyond the Peons on the ground!
Yes their idiots, cant count to 3. 3 houses 3 fkn trash cans Duh! And yes the turnover rate is worse than fast food! Its a new guy every month or so. But the symptom has persisted much longer then the individual employee turnover! Its the entire trash service! This is a Shoddy Management issue. Because they dont give a rats ass! They dont train them correctly or stress that its unacceptable!
I blame the management!
Now Monarch Environmental was our trash service prior to these flunkies... And they never missed our trash, NOT ONCE in 30 years! They also got out road side debris (sticks and whatnot) Every Week!
NOT Scott Waste. I have watched them walk right by and leave it lay week after week! Its not untill I call and say something about them leaving it for weeks do they even bother to reach down and pick up our sticks! Piss Poor Service!
Its a damn shame that this lady contacted the city counsel and they did not do a damn thing. A repremand by the city against Scott Waste should have occured! With the threat of more serious action if this is not corrected immediately!
This Just goes to show where loyalties lie with our public officials! Its sure not with "We The People" who elected them!

Horrible Service. I will bring it up at the next city council meeting. Taxpayers of Logan County may need to be better represented.

I can really say I have had the same trash man for 7 years from Scotts Waste and he is absolutely amazing! Sorry that other people are having a hard time with them. No complaints on J Montgomery road.
