As long as you've made the "Freudian slip" and said Airellas, I feel compelled to respond to "Airellas."
Lovely ambience, too pricey, and the lady who runs the place is VERY abrupt, outspoken, and doesn't exude any of the "southern charm" we Ky. folk appreciate and enjoy. No warmth!

Yes, the ambience is lovely, BUT the prices are great! In case you haven't been there in a while, they have a new chef AND a new menu, with prices that are VERY reasonable! I don't know why people around here complain about prices, yet they'll drive to BG or Nashville and pay more for the same thing! As for "the lady who runs the place", her name is Debra and she is the owner! No, she's not from the South, but she is a VERY sweet lady who tries to ensure her customers are well taken care of! As for being abrut, sometimes you have to be when you're running a business...Outspoken? Women who are outspoken are often called
b!tch3s because they speak their mind, but if it were a man, they'd be admired!!! If I spent that much money on a business, you'd better believe your @$$ I'd be outspoken too!

has no one realized this post is about adelles on 9th street and not ariella's on main, and as for get a life, you must be kin to "debra" cause no one else knows all that bs, and it is a little high but worth it, and "debra" can be a little annoying when trying to eat, sometimes people dont want someone talking forever while trying to enjoy dinner. Its nice to be checked on but sitting down and telling the whole history of how the restaurant came to be is too much.

I never got a chance to go to Adelle's "Gourmet" Southern Steakhouse. But, I did get a chance to look at their menu. I'm sorry but the word gourmet doesn't go along with the majority their menu items. Gourmet means elaborately equipped for preparation of fancy, specialized, or exotic meals. I saw the appetizer menu and everything was deep-fried. I think they loosely used the word gourmet to make their restaurant look more high-end and to charge more. Unfortunately, not everything that is southern is deep-fried. I do feel for the restauranter. But, they knew they were taking a big risk and hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and re-group.

Nope, not kin to Debra and yes, she can be a little annoying, but she is a nice lady! BTW, I do realize that this post was about Adelle's on 9th Street, but it was then made into a post about Ariella's because of the so-called, "Freudian slip"! Either way, I only ate at Adelle's once and liked it, but nothing stays open in that building on 9th St.

Just how much money does DEBRA now owe people that did work on her business to get her started?

She should spend a little more time in making sure her debts are paid rather than ensuring her customers will return. When you do bad business with people, word gets around and that alone can put you under. She has ripped many people off. So dont think for a minute she has reasons to be out spoken just because of the money she has put into her restaurant. She needs to have people tell her what they think and be out spoken. Doesnt look like she put as much money in the business as you may think when she still owes for services done months and months ago

Maybe my knowledge of what nepotism is differs from yours. This is a family owned business. I would think that they could hire as many family members as they want because ultimately they are the ones who have to pay their salary. I have always thought nepotism dealt with politcal figures who hired their own. Big news now in Tennessee where the circuit clerk hired his own son and other family members. These employees are paid by the tax payers and there's no way they are not shown favortism in the workplace.

Yes, your knowledge does differ from Gabi's. Nepotism is defined as: patronage bestowed or favoritism shown on the basis of family relationship, as in business and politics. NOTE the word FAMILY relationships! He is NOT a family member. This is her daughters boyfriend...what if he doesn' stick around or the relationship falls apart?

Even though this post is titled Ariella's? It is supposed to be about Adelle's. I already put my two cents on Adelle's. But, since no one is paying much attention to this post and is just talking about Ariella's, I guess I will do a review.
We went on a Weds afternoon and it was during non-peek hours. Got our bread and it came with cut butter. That isn't the "traditionally" served with Italian bread. Olive oil and balsamic vinegar is traditional. This is supposed to be a traditional Italian restaurant. Because we were served butter and not even whipped butter, it was hard to spread. But, the bread had good flavor. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo and too be honest, it was lacking flavor, but I added pepper and it was much better. BUT... My boyfriend ordered the pasta with pesto and chicken. Well, it didn't say traditional pesto, house pesto, specialty pesto or anything. So, he thought it was a traditional pesto- basil, olive oil, garlic, pine nuts, and parmigiano. He got it and was so looking forward to it, because it is his FAVORITE! Apparently, there was no flavor. Everything was bland, even the chicken. How is that even possible? The server was very nice and corrected the problem and took it back to the CHEF(the new CHEF). My boyfriend ordered Alfredo with chicken. He got it and the Chef put the same piece of chicken on his new pasta. This is wrong and BAD food safety practice. I about walked out. But, my boyfriend didn't mind, I later told him they aren't supposed to do that... he wish we had left. The manager came out, was very nice and apologized for the pesto. She said they could put some garlic in it... BUT the thing is, there wasn't any description on the pesto. So, looks to me like someone doesn't know how to write a menu, make a simple recipe, and season the meat with salt and pepper before you cook it. I don't care how much experience you have, you don't send out food you don't taste! If, you wouldn't eat it, why send it out? NOT going ever again.

To the poster who said Debra is a narcissist, RIGHT ON !!

She is a malignant narcissist who lies, cheats, steals and frauds those whom she does business with. She ripped of the hairdresser next door by accruing a "tab" for repeat services which she claimed to never have a "check" on her and would pay "next time", when the hairdresser tried to collect what the Debra owed she avoided her, lied, and NEVER PAID and was never seen or heard from by my hairdresser since. I took offense at this because at the time the person she ripped off was very bad off financially and needed every dime she could get her hands on, her only crime was trusting this liar next door. I had considered trying the restaurant out before I found out about the shady and cruel way this Debra person treats people. Not only that I heard that she also never paid the contractor for work he did on her building, nor the tile man, she ripped off the newspaper by complaining about ads AFTER the ads had run she refused to pay..and on and on the stories are endless.....
"For whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For God is not mocked. Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord, I shall repay."....
Good luck Debra, the truth will catch up with you eventually THAT you can take to the "bank"!!!! Theres always a hell to pay for the pain you cause another by greed, avarice, treachery and thievery......God is watching.

She is a lying bitch. She seems very nice as first but that quickly changes. First off she treats people like shit. The electrician that did all of the work on the building ended up going out of business for debts she owned. She owes me more than $1000 and know of other people whom she owes money to that used to be employees. She used to have rental houses but ended up having to give them to her loan shark and was sued by the old chef from what I hear.
