I went there a few times after it first opened and it was not very good. i may just be spoiled to O'Charlies and places like that but after those few visits I have not been back. It may have got better since I was last there but I wasn't impressed, I would rather drive to BG to eat for sure.

I had ate there when they first opened also and agree with you that it needed some improvement but since then they have changed and steaks are really good now

I have to agree, in the begining they did get off to a rough start but, who doesnt. I think everything has changed they have been working on past issues and it is a different place now.

The cattle pen has excellent food and Stephen has lots of experience in the restaurant business coming from O'Charley's. I made a TON of money waiting tables the first six months or so because people were constantly coming in, especially on weekends. I definitely recommend it.

Ok, I had never ate there until just awhile ago and: There was a hole in the room we ate at and it was VERY cold in there, I had to wear my big coat the whole time we were there. Plus my steak was not right so I sent it back and the cook came out and had a BIG attitude with me about how I wanted it done!!!! I will never eat there AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Cattle Pen food is really good....but, whatever you do, DO NOT pay with a credit or debit card. The waitress, or some I should say, tip themselves as they see fit. I had heard that and left the tip on the table and zerod out in tip line on receipt and my waitress still helped herself. I called and the owner/mgr or someone was supposed to call me back and never did. So, I tell everyone and wont go back.

my card was charged like that too. I talked to the owner and it was fixed then because it was a mistake. it helps if you know who the server was so the problem can be addressed. people make mistakes thats no excuse not to go back

Well, in alot of resturants a tip is tacked on accordingly to the bill. I can see where people think its wrong, but your tip should be around 10-20% of your total. You have to think that its bound to be hard forking for $2-3 hourly, and then someone dosent tip. You are not really tipping for the food, you are tipping for the service. I've never personaly waited tables, but I know plenty of people that have, and it sucks when you go out of your way to smile and do your job nomatter what is going on and someone not give you a tip willingly.

I know plenty of waitresses at the cattle pen and they make around 3 to 4 hundred dollars a week in tips, so that more that most around here, so no one needs to steal from someones credit card period, if i have to ask for a refill than no tip, thats that. I mean its not like their being paid for their brains.

Like it was stated above, ALOT of sit down resturants take a tip out as a minimum percentage. I dont know if the cattle pen does, but I know quite a few in Bowling Green do. Its not stealing, its just tacked on so that everyone makes a fair amount of tips.

If you are dining with a large party a 18-20%tip/gratuity is added to your ticket. This is a common practice at most sit down restaurants. Of course if you are not accustomed to eating at places other than McDonalds and Taco Bell I can understand why this might be difficult for some people to understand.
