Freshwater sharks rarely achieve lengths greater than 8 feet. This is thought to be due to the fact that they are dormant in colder weather and do not feed year round. It could also be an adaptation needed to survive in a limited body of water with limited food supply. The longest freshwater shark on record was found in Deep Creek Lake in the western panhandle of Maryland in 1983. It measured 9 feet 4 inches in length and weighed 512 pounds. The only other freshwater shark over 8 feet in length was found in Lake Cumberland, Kentucky in 2001. It was 8 feet 7 inches long and weighed 428 pounds and was thought to be responsible for all 3 shark attacks in that lake that summer.

found it,
crocks are found in various parts of the world but usually in much warmer climates. South America and Australia are the most prominent. Crocks are very similar in appearance to our alligators, but much more aggressive. Their snout is long and pointed, compared to our alligator's which is quite rounded. I have been confronted by both. The 'gator near a canal in Florida while playing golf, and by a large male crock in Paraguay while swimming in the Rio Paraguay. That was beyond scary.

Oh sorry, I didn't know there were people that are so sheltered here! I meant it's a crock of shit, but I thought any lame ass would understand. I'll clarify next time! And what I mean by "crock of shit" is that it's not true. I found where the original poster got their info, posted the link, and here you are trying to sound as if you have a clue. Don't worry, maybe Santa will bring you one!! Merry Christmas xoxo

crocks of shit are seldom seen in civilization. they are rumored to be seen sometimes in backwater countries attempting to keep sanitary habitation. crocks of shit can reach 5 or 6 loads before being disposed of but mainly are disposed of daily. i have been confronted by both, and it is scary! in my early years most often by my older brother but today i'm often confronted with a crock of shit from theresa or troll or guru.... and our president.

Don't worry bout em, Grok! I'm a fan of yours usually. Sometimes I wonder how a person knows a little bit about everything, and then I want to ask you where you learned all the things you know about. Sometimes I can tell that you have a big heart behind that articlate and well defined vocabulary. When I see that you have posted something mean I think about what a bad day you must be having, or what an idiot the other person is. I sincerely hope that you have a Merry Christmas!

I was fishing last summer with my Fiance now husband on Lake Cumberland in summer of 08. We brought our dog maggie along with us for the ride. Anyways we used sardines and some other little fiss for bait to catch some of the bigger fish as i set my line & threw it out about 10 minutes later maggie was looking down @ the water barking. She done this for a good 10 minutes. We thought she had just seen a fish or duck. Well my line had a tug on it me and my husband rick both had to pull on it & even with both of us pulling the line broke i figured we just got a huge A*s fish! Anyhow maggie was still barking i look over the boat & im sure i saw a shark! It was like a brown color. Im sure therearent any fish the looks like a shark? I told my husband about it he told me it wasnt what i thought it was but i do know what i saw even though i couldnt belive it myself but i have looked up fresh-water sharks and it really looked like what i saw that day.

Maybe when you grow up, you'll develop a sense of humor beyond whatever crap you learned from watching the Teletubbies. Now go wash your mouth out with soap.

Troll, yea that is kind of true but i hear there are fish in lake cumberland the size of cars and most people who live here havent seen them & some have.
The big fish stay at the bottom of the lake so im guessing the sharks stay near the bottom its a big lake 90 feet perhaps. I heard stories of people seeing a shark I do belive there are sharks lake cumberland but they stay near the bottom where the bigger fish are and i think there is no harm as long as people dont throw food into the water or bloody fish.

I've lived here all my life and I have never personally seen, nor saw any pictures of any sharks in Lake Cumberland. I'm not saying that there isn't any, and it wouldn't surprise me that some people have maybe added a couple to the lake at some point. I am not "qualified" to say whether it would be posible for a shark to survive in this climate and water temperatures here either, not to mention "freshwater". All I can say is that it seems odd that there isn't any pictures to show proof that there are sharks here.
