Methadone isn't a generic form of meth. It is synthetic herione. Used to try to get people to kick there opiate problems (opiates are used for pain I.E. pain pills) It is a joke just like methadone was people can still snort it and get way wild off of it. It does nothing other then take people from buying drugs off of a person to buying drugs off of the government. To any junkies out there that want to get off of drugs heres a nickels worth of free advice.... Stop doing drugs dont go from one drug to another and expect to get clean cuz it wont happen. You are wasting your time and tax payers money just laying around being a junkie.

Yea it is for pain. I never said it wasnt but here before long they will give a suboxne to get you off of methadone. That was its orginal purpose when it was made many years ago. Actually it was used to get people off herione. Still none the less before you know it you will be a junkie. I have seen happen to everyone that has back problems and they give them methadone. Before you know it they are junkies who cant even concieve living without methadone. When you finally get help for it they will give you suboxne. The whole point is that you cant substitute one narcotic for another thinking its going to help.

Thats true. I was goin to the somerset clinic where he prescribed me methadone for 8 months, 3 ten milligram a day, I took them like that and out of nowhere he wanted to swith me to morphine patch, I refused so he cut me off cold, and I thought for sure I was gonna die with the withdrawls I was having, I will never touch a methadone again. I didnt turn into a junkie as you call it, I just listed to the doctor. which wasent a good idea.

Yea I get a little out of hand but there sure is alot of junkies around. That is how the addiction starts alot of times. People have back problems or some kind of pain problem. There doctor gives them what they think is just a harmless pill. They start taking then and BOOM they are addicted in just a few months. I really feel bad for people who get sucked in and dont mean to. On the other hand I have no pity for people who strive to get said drugs. Alot of people think its alright to snort there prescribed suboxne. If you take the drug like it is said then results may start to happen. If you snort the pill and abuse it then you are just wasting peoples time.

I never called you a junkie, So dont take offense to what is being said. I am more or less telling people the danger of the drugs that they take. On the other hand I will say this about you, You need to learn to spell and how to type a sentence. I can understand a typo but I had to basically relearn the english language to understand what you just wrote.

Just like methadone, suboxone can be used to TREAT not CURE addiction. There is no cure for addiction, only lifelong recovery. I have witnessed suboxone being part of someone's treatment, and it has worked well for them. But just as stopping the use of any substance whether it be drugs, cigarettes, or going on a diet and deleting carbs, the user has to BE READY TO QUIT. If the person is not truly ready to stop using, any form of treatment may as well be considered a quick fix and not any part of the solution to the real problem. In my opinion, Suboxone is a better option for someone that is really interested in longterm treatment than methadone, just because of how it chemically works in your body. I have heard of people who buy them on the street and people who abuse them, but I don't think that those people using them for that reason are in large enough numbers to speak against it having positive effects as a treatment option as a whole. It all depends on the user and if you are taking it for the right reasons.

I can agree with most of what you say. The only thing is if they are taking them to recover and they are an addict. Then they will everyday be subjected to the temptation of abusing them. The only way in my opion to quit is to just quit. If you are bad enough that you could die from the detox then you should go to a hospital or somewhere you can recieve treatment. The only thing knowing people who take pills all i hear is how wild you can get off of them not what good they are doing to get them off of pills.

I can only speak of one person's treatment that I've witnessed, and their use of suboxone followed inpatient treatment. I'm thankful for what this medication has done for this person as far as their treatment. But this person is committed to following their program which is why it has so far been successful for them. People will abuse just about any substance there is out there, even laxatives, a lot of it I don't understand. There is help out there for those who are addicted, but taking that step to admit you need and actually want help is what is so hard for most people. Many people also do not have a support system of sober family and friends to see them through the good and bad parts of the process and to be committed to their recovery with them.

I really am not to optamistic about it I guess. You are right the hardest thing I think that people have getting off of drugs is there good time buddies. Who dont want to get off of drugs and have the mind set that they are okay doing drugs. I really hate junkies and their denial I think. I guess it is just a joke that they dont get you know what I mean? I can spy a druggie from a distance. I have even had these people ask me for drugs "while under the influence of them" at public places. They dont understand that people can tell they are on drugs. I have even seen a trend now that people are getting there teeth pulled for pain pills, disgusting!

From what I hear just another money making drug prescribed to people who don't need any more than they nedded the pain pills that they were taking. It can be a miracle drug if a person really needs it and uses it for the right reason. My problem is people getting it to sell and using it to get high on. When does it ever stop? Alot of abuse on melson ridge.

The thing is that abuse is around all coners. If you know anything about the beat of drugs then you know that is all anyone cares about. Use to be methadone now it has morphed into suboxne. I just dont see the wonder in the drug, all I see is abuse.

I have seen it work wonders for a friend who had a drug problem that had been on-going for 9 years and she is lucky to be alive . She was fortunate enough to get on the suboxne program and it saved her life. I know that some feel that its trading one addiction for another and it may be but at least this person is obtaining her medication through legal means instead of buying pain pills off the streets. She works and pays for her medication and it is very expensive especially if no insurace is involved. It doesn't matter what kind of drug is out there there will always be someone to abuse it!
