I know for a fact that too many lazy parents dump their kids off there and leave them and expect the owners to be babysitters for their kids for hours on end. That's not right either on the parents part! Some little kids at that!

My kids have been there several times and I like the people. They don't let the kids go in and out for safety reasons and the rule is posted for everyone to read before paying to go in. You should have let the owners know that your daughter was going outside so they would know it was OK with you.

my children go there sometimes and NO, they are not stupid teenagers, if it is such a bad place why was the sidewalk full this pastweekend with children all ages ready to go in to go skate? just because you may have a problem with the place dont give you the right to get on topix and call half the teenagers in our county stupid, i dont like it and im sure alot of other teenagers and parents dont either!
it's always full because the kids that go in there pile up in the corners & make out, they do a lot of stuff in there that they shouldn't, i took my daughter once (and I stayed in there with her) and I saw a lot of stuff that kids were doing because their parents just drop them off and think it's a safe place...well it's not, if you drop your kids off there, beware because a lot of them do adult things there...my child will never be back, even if i'm in there with her.

Maybe your kid shouldn't be going to such a place if he or she cannot handle some grabbing, pushing, cursing and harassing? Maybe your kid did something to extrapolate this kind of response from other kids? Remember, kids live in the real world. There's no lawsuit here because there appears to be no damage. Other than to your ego, that is. You've done all you can--keep your kid away from there and bit** about it on Topix.
No kid does anything to deserve being cursed and hit. The parents that drop their kids there every weekend, knowing they are sending teenagers to a place without supervision are probably the teenagers that grew up going to Merryland roller rink. There was fighting, sex, drugs, pretty much anything went there. These parents know this and still allow their children to go. I agree with you on one thing. My kids won't go there.

I've never been to this skating ring except once a few years ago for a birthday party. But, reading this has got me to wondering exactly what kind of establishment this is. Why do parents judt drop their kids off in these kinds of places. I wouldn't drop my kid off anywhere...not movies, skating rink, or bowling alley. My next question is...why do the owners care if people come in and out? i'd say just be glad they come if they want business. Because that's what it is a business not a daycare. The parents should be with their own kids supervising them. It's a public place and you should be able to come and go as you please. I'm not on anyones side I'm just trying to understand the problem here. I do understand that if you pay to get in then if you leave you should have to pay to be readmitted unless they have a hand stamp of something to prove they have paid. Otherwise, who cares if you go out for a phone call, cigarette, or anything else?

I do to skating there alot and i see nothing wrong with the place, the owners are nice, the kids behave, and everyone is having fun. And no it's not only for young kid the owners made it too try to give kids a place to hand out and a place where they can stay out of trouble. There's no drugs, the adults are respectful, and everyone there is have a good time. If your worried about your kids then stay up there with them and not leave them there alone. The owners tell the kids not to run in and out because some could happen to them when they are outside and they want the kids to be safe.

I agree with everything you've written. I've had nothing but good interactions with the owners. Historically, skating rinks have been a place where questionable people hung out, doing some pretty questionable things like drinking and drugging. The owners are Christian people who wanted to create a fun, safe, family-oriented place where their kids could be safe with or without the parents being there. I have dropped mine off a couple of times, but I always spoke directly with the owner to let her know who I was and who my child was and to ensure she was not allowed to go in and out. I felt OK about leaving my child there and I always questioned her afterwards to ensure she had a good time and was safe. She never once indicated to me that anything was going on that shouldn't.

Frankly, I think the original poster is just using topix to ruin somebody's business without having to show his/her face. If you have a valid complaint, then make the complaint publicly and identify yourself so the owners can defend themselves. Otherwise, this is nothing but a coward's libel and slander.

My kids used to go there three days every week and I went with them for awhile. Then I saw that the kids are pretty much under constant supervision of some kind.(Whether they are aware of it or Not!)If parents only knew what all goes on in the parking lot,I promise you, you'd be very glad that they don't let the kids go outside the door(unless they know the person very well)!I learned quick that it's for their own protection from the riff that preys the parking lots of town. The few times I saw or heard them getting on kids,is when they knew trouble was brewing and to get the kids all under control again.Overall they do try to keep our kids safe and do their best to keep things they know the kids like and entertain them.Ain't that why you left them there in the first place? In my opinion, IF they put hands on your kid..It was to bring order or to keep order before anyone or anything got outta control.Witnessed this a time or two, however I thought they handled the situation well.Never seen them try and hurt a child! If you need answers just ask some of the regular kids nothing goes unnoticed by someone!
