Driving drunk a second and third time after publically apologizing to the community the first time he was caught driving drunk in Mercer county. Can voters really be expected to believe and have confidence in Tony Kerr once again ? How many chances does Kerr get to miss work sitting in jail drunk ?

Did you ever consider drunk driving 3 times as an elected official and missing work sitting in jail might seriously damage any shot of winning ?

I don't care if he has had three thousand DUI's I'll be punching the button for Tony! He's a great dude! Help you out anyway he can! He's the same today as yesterday and a little dirt on him only means he's human. I'm proud of him for standing up and staying in office and running and hiding or even trying to get all this garbage off of Topix. He's bigger than all you that are running him down! I'll be saying my prayers that Tony will remain circuit court clerk!!! Everybody has a past of some sort!!! Sweep off your own porch before you go worrying about sweeping off someone else's!

I wonder how many convicted felons are going to try and register or sneak and vote in the Russell circuit clerks election ? I hope the AG's office investigates vote fraud hard here in this election.

All the negative BS they've been putting on here is the ONLY reason I'm voting for Kerr. I'd much rather have him than Burton after seeing all the BS him and his crew are putting on here. Also encouraging all my family and friends to do the same. I'd rather have a drunk in office than an azzhole that suffers from short man syndrome.

GO TONY!!!!!!!

Hahahaha! That's so funny and Oh! SO TRUE! I'm voting for Tony because he is educated, qualified and knows how to do the job. What is Burton's education and qualifications again? BWHAHAHA!

I prefer candidates who use the "Here's why you should vote for me" instead of the "Here's why you shouldn't vote for the other guy" approach. In all fairness, there should be an equal amount of time on this site devoted to the past (including work history) of other candidates. Right, little man?

He can pay for the most country-sounding people to say how his poop don't stink in his radio ads...oh and he can make complimentary cookies for the people who will be waiting in line for his help (which they won't get unless they are shorter than him).

I know what you mean. Burton has terrible radio ads. He should have spent a few bucks for a professional consultation. They are poorly produced, the voices are horrible. It's almost like they are intended to repulse, not attract voters.

All you people on here saying all these bad things about these these men should be ashame of yourself; you are worse then Tony or Burton; you are cruel and heartless and have no feelings for them and their families. Words are hurtful and you people who say all these things, I hope you know that even if any of it is true, just remember that when you die, you are held accountable for every word you have ever spoken;plus all the people you hurt along the way. THINK ABOUT THIS, and try to control your tongue! and like my grandmother always said; if you can't say something good then don't say anything at all. The world would be a better place if everyone would look at their own faults instead of everybody else's and it would't matter who was running for office;we all have faults; so stop hurting others and try living your life for God and try loving everyone; just as God loves you with your faults and all. BUT Remember, you will have to answer for every word you speak, so speak kindly or don't speak at all.

Are you saying an elected official can do anything they want to while in office and the voters has to keep quiet and then all will be well?

Exactly. We (the voters/taxpayers) are hiring somebody to do a job. It's not a popularity contest; we are not voting for prom king.
Think about it from an employer's perspective: You're reviewing your staff. You have a person in a job that has been doing it for years; maybe there have been some rough spots here and there in your guy's personal life, but he GETS THE JOB DONE.
You have a couple of other people wanting the job, one has some experience but doesn't seem to be working (campaigning) for the spot.
You have one that has a spotty work history, no experience in the job at hand, but they think that by casting aspersions on the person already in the job makes them appear to be "better". They don't offer any reason why they can DO THE JOB, they just complain that the incumbent is "bad".
Your choice is pretty clear. Change can sometimes be good; change for the sake of change (greener grass and all that) isn't. You keep the best person for the job in the position.
I agree that Kerr will win. He could have possibly been unseated by Waddell if she was his only opponent, but I think that a lot of voters don't think she can win a 3-way race and will vote for Kerr to ensure that Burton doesn't win.
My prediction is that Kerr will get 50% of the votes, Burton 30-35%, and Waddell will get the rest.
You got this part right ''the best person for the job'' but Tony is not the best whole package.

Well, I'm not perfect, not by a long shot. I don't think Mr. Kerr claims to be either, but I think he's good at his job, and it's a hard one. I'm not his biggest fan and I don't mean to come off as a cheerleader. If it was just him and Ms. Waddell in the race, I'd vote for her. I'm not anti-Burton so much as I just don't think he's a good fit for the office.
