I heard on the radio earlier about a bunch of people getting arrested here lately. I couldn't make out all the names but I heard a few. Does anyone know anything about this? Who was involved and what happened?

If you are referring to the "BIG TIME" dealers, no they will not be nailed, simply because when you talk BIG time, you are talking lawyers, judges and on up the line. Then you get into big time mobsters that are virtually untouchable because of who they are and the amount of monies they have. It's always the little guy that gets busted, then the big guy goes for another little guy. it's a vicious cycle. It would make a person's hair stand on end if they only knew the truth of who is doing what rot.

More Than 50 Alleged Drug Dealers Being Sought; Round-Up Began Early Thursday
Thursday, October 2, 2008 -- Law enforcement officers from numerous city, county and state agencies armed with "sealed indictments" began fanning out across Russell County early today searching for more than 50 individuals accused of drug trafficking offenses. Russell County Sheriff Larry Bennett told WJRS News today's round-up is part of an ongoing investigation that began, in some cases, more than one year ago, with most of the cases allegedly occuring this year. By late afternoon, officers had located and lodged in jail 39 of the 52 suspects. The offenses charged in the "sealed indictments" handed-up last week by the Russell County Grand Jury include trafficking in cocaine, marijuana, prescription pain pills, and other various prescription medications. The names and ages of those taken into custody thus far are as follows: Raney Dykes-58, Sheldon Grider-46, Jason Hare-28, Sharon Anderson-24, Jeffrey Lawson-29, Heather Morgan-20, Johnny Loy-56, Mildred Hopper-50, Holly McKinley-26, Jodi Miller-26, Christa Bray-34, Tommy Bradley-21, Mitchell Miller-28, Patrick Rowe-22, Erice Rowe-23, Josh Grider-30, Bonnie Leitch-52, Christopher Dunlap-21, Jason Green-26, Michael Bowling-33, Lisa Redmon-25, Greg Collins-34, Connie Blakey-37, Brian Huff-28, Joseph Mann-27, Kandi Lee-30, Terry Scholl-26, Brandon Chapman-20, Damion Anderson-34, Travis Hosack-20, Michael Blakey-43, Peron Marcum-25, Nathan Popplewell-25, Walter Emery Thomas, Jr.-56, Larry Redmon-45, Richard Rodgers-27, Ginger Devore-29, Danny Blackford-21, Rebecca Branham-48.

The search for the remaining suspects continues and WJRS News will provide more information when additional arrests are made.

This is so true, you betcha'. Then again, IF and I say IF the BIG persons would get nailed then there would not be any little person to distribute the garbage. As long as the BIG one is running the business there will always be the little business, so sorry to say.
