As many are aware.. There are many candidates running for Sheriff of this crime riddled County! Im just wondering if the next Sheriff is going to clean it up, or just turn their heads shortly after taking office. Voters need to go with facts in regards the candidates to determine if they are fit to be Sheriff and uphold the laws that are within the Kentucky Revised Statutes!!! Keep in mind, many of the candidates who are running, if elected the head is going to swell to no recognition of who they use to be!! Dont vote for one cause he didnt write you a ticket or whatever silly reason. Vote cause they are capable to run the office!!

Although Only one candidate will win The election several others are seeking the position. In my opinion, That's a good thing so long as the people seeking the position are actually qualified for the position. Residents of Russell County should feel protection and safety in our community and it's good knowing that this many people are willing to continue protecting the people here as our Former sheriff has, However It's important that the voters actually cast their vote and elect the candidate who is most qualified for the position. Given theres not an incumbent Sheriff seeking re-election We the voters have to pick the qualified Candidate. The prior Qualified candidate has stepped down to Retire after his many years of Serving this county. Just because somebody is your friend, or somebody is your family, or somebody has been favorable toward you or people you know, or made promises Doesn't mean that their actually the most qualified candidate. Larry Bennett Held The position as our elected sheriff because none the less He was completely qualified and employed qualified deputies to protect our community and children. So I believe Voting completely qualified for this election is clearly the only the right thing to do.
I want you to ask yourself who is completely qualified for this position. And why are they qualified?
What will it mean for residents here if their elected..

That's what this should be about. Not favours Nor Promises!

Do you actually know what the qualifications are to be a Kentucky Sheriff, Based on that all are qualified. There have been a lot of promises made and threats as well. If one well known candidate wins he will have 600 deputies, another is telling deputies to get on board with him or you will lose your job if I win. The people you talk to in the county are tired of the same old same old they say. In a business when management isnt getting the job done they get rid of you. I think we need a fresh new start in the office. We need to look at someone that is not in the pretty boy click. We need someone who has nothing to lose by kicking in doors and taking names. Someone who actually cares enough about our county and the people in it to actually try and clean it up.

Yes, I know that a person must meet Certain requirements in order to be Eligible to seek the position. You need notice I said Requirements .....I did Not say we needed a sheriff who met the requirements in order to seek the position to actually be elected. What I did say and let me make myself clear, We need a qualified candidate to fill the position and not just a person who meets requirements such As age and residency test to be elected as our sheriff. As in our last election Larry Bennett was elected because He was most qualified to do the job and not because he met the requirements to seek the position.
Last Election said a lot in and of itself as to what Russell County Voters wanted. They wanted somebody qualified and that's why Larry Bennett was reelected.
Sure, Just about anybody could meet the requirements as that is all that has to be met in order to seek the position. Your right.....
Russell county Expressed their desire to elect Larry Bennett, I qualified candidat, rather than a person who had met basic requirements to seek the position.
enough said.....

Only Qualified candidates need to seek the position. All others should respect Their selves and drop out....
Past proof And evidence suggests you should withdraw From the race if you're not fully qualified!

A Ky sheriffs official job is to collect taxes, provide court room security and transport prisoners. I believe the way it's always been in Ky is this other law enforcement business is usually a convenient smokescreen to look the other way from certain lawbreakers while collecting regular kickbacks from certain lawbreakers to keep looking the other way.

I find it interesting that there has never been a Sheriff elected in Russell County that was from out of the county, much less the state. I like that statistic for this election

Clet and nick, is that like the blind leading the blind? Why are u scared of your shadow, why are you trying to be Sheriff, when all the years you had a chance to change things then, but we only see NO effort, nor attempts to solve drug issies in our county. Just go hide under the rock you came from, because you know Tim Pierce will win.

My family will vote for the candidate that will enforce the illegal gambling machine law. We think it is a shame that the gambling machines are in our community.

Who cares whether there are illegal gambling machines? We have a lottery and paramutual betting.....the only difference is that they are taxed. I'm glad to see someone make a little money without the government getting their fingers in it. MY family(much bigger and also better looking and more intelligent than yours) will vote for the candidate who pledges to leave the gambling machines alone. If that's the most important issue that a candidate has on their agenda, then they need to stay at the house.

Illegal gambling poker machines prey on people who can least afford them often hurting families and children. This wicked criminal enterprise has flourished for too long in Russell county with the law looking the other way

So that leads me to believe that u are a democrat and a liberal that supports abolishing the second amendment , as well as supporting the NSA spying on all of us to keep the democrats in power. Not to mention you would support higher taxes and handing out more entitlements? Good luck getting your candidate elected here!
