it should be closed, not enough population in the area to support the school.

I tend to think that Chapel would be the Last to Close-Those Kids would have to catch a bus before Daylight! How would you like your child to do That???

They have to eventually go to middle and high school, which is in town what's the diff. The kids in jabez have to get on the bus at the a** crack of dawn.

I agree. Kids in Jabez have to ride the bus longer. I think Union Chapel should be a church ran school since they focus more on church than teaching there anyway.

"I be glad". Sounds like you hated school too. I guess we should do away with everything that anybody in your family doesn't like.

Union chapel may be small, but kids are safe and recieve a quality education there. As for it being church-driven, i hardly think that's a bad thing. Most of us would benefit from more exposure to Biblical teachings. I think too little God in school is a much worse problem.

Quality education? Then why do they have to play catch up in middle school and high school? A public school should focus more on teaching them math, history, science, reading,e tc than the Bible.

I have no problem with kids being taught religion by their parents but that is what home and church is for not a government run, taxpayer funded school.

If you want your children to learn about our Lord and Savior take them to Sunday School, if your neighbors children need Church take them with you.

I have two kids that go to this school. I have a daughter in the fifth grade that is very smart and respectful. I think the teachers and staff do a awesome job with my kids. I would put both them up against any child their age and bet they know just as much as a kid from a different school. And also I'm very glad my kids can talk about God in school. I think that's what it wrong with the world today. Everyone wants to take God away from our kids. But guarantee the ones who want to do away with God will be begging for him someday.

I have to disagree with the head lice statement. Every school every where will have students that get head lice. I don't think there are more in Union Chapel with it than any other school. Also anyone can get lice,it's not a sign of being dirty. My mother used to say it's not a disgrace to get them,it's a disgrace to keep them.

I remember in the 50's when that school was just one room with no grass for the playground. KY was full of one room schools and dirt roads were a plenty where one had to forge creeks everywhere in the fifties up until the early sixties. My wife is from a small town in TN and never saw a one room school that's how backwards the KY school system was at the time. Yes I am from Union Chapel so no outsider bashing KY.

So what's your point? You didn't put a comma after the word "statement" or capitalize "English". Big deal...
