I hope Obama gets booted! This has been a horrible 4 years! People need to work, not sit on their hind ends drawing a government check! Therefore my vote will be for Romney. Clearly Obama does not know how to fix this economy. Who knows, Mabey Romney can't either, but I say lets let him have a go at it!

Social issues should not be handled or even discussed at the federal level.

So a bankrupt government is going to magically obtain enough money to provide the needed care and support through PRIVATE means of healthcare for all?
No, comrade. Won't work. Without profit private insurers will eventually go into other businesses where they can make money. The government promises will have to be served by the government.
And why not point to Europe and Canada? You continue to use the argument that we are the "only ones" that don't offer our citizens healthcare so we should look at all of the examples you cite.
You can move other people's money around all you want friend but you cannot increase the demand, reduce supply AND not spend more money. You healthcare "rainmakers" promise us everything but like Europe and Canada, you will deliver only
Restricted access,
Lower service,
Death panels and
Denied care.
And just like England, the wealthy will still have access to care we commoners can't get!!
Just listing the above doesn't make it likely that these things will occur. The companies will profit from the payment to them subsidized by the government. What's the difference between the government buying bombs and the government buying healthcare, aside from the obvious?

Government spending is only an issue when it is on something with which people don't agree. Trouble is, there is always about half the county not agreeing.

Nice thought, but bombs are finite. You can buy more or fewer and the price is set. Health care is open-ended. There isn't a set price for caring for someone. If you decide to set a price (like Medicare is doing now) the supply will drop (ask the elderly how hard it is to get a new doc now!) and if you limit what the consumer can have (rationing) someone gets "uncared" for. It isn't difficult. Just basic economics.

You can set price controls and watch providers leave.
You can ration it and watch customers die.
But you can't beat the laws of economics. And all of the wishful thinking of collectivists through the ages haven't changed that.

Buying fewer would leave more money to spend elsewhere. There isn't a set price for a lot of things, like maintaining roads or funding education. There are only budgets for these things. The healthcare bill covers more people. Does it pay less to the providers? Even less pay per service might not mean less profit (construct your graph here)

What a miserable, mindless wretch you must be. Most people in this country are too impatient and think the administration's policies will fix things overnight. Much like the above post illustrates, most Americans are sadly misinformed and eager to believe the worst. Spending and welfare was just fine until money got tight. This country doesn't deserve what it has. Bunch a crying punks.
