I agree with you that we need a new middle school however your reasoning does not make much sense. So you vote No because we are not putting students in an outdated facility designed for 3rd grade education in the 1970's?? Regardless, chamberlain will be used for administrative offices next year.

I have 2 kids about to be entering middle school in the near future and would like you to consider voting yes for the future educational needs our children desperately need.

If the original bond had passed we would already have a new middle school and Chamberlain would have been used already for administrate offices instead of sitting empty.

Vote NO!!! We don't need higher taxes and less pay! The economy is in the dump and dosent look like it going to get any better in the near future why would the citizens on Henderson want to raise thier taxes???? I can't believe that the school board wants to ask? They just got Wiley and the "Dickie dome" what's next??? Wake up folks they are draining our pockets!!!! Please vote no on the school bond!

Let me understand this. YOU want US to pay higher taxes for years so YOUR two kids can enjoy a new middle school. Gimme gimme gimme, all about ME. And then, you'll be back in 4/5 years wanting a new high school so YOUR kids...... I think most of us will agree the dickie dome was a stupid mistake made by a stupid school board elected by stupidly selfish people. In addition to the dickie dome, we now have a new AG BARN. Where does it stop? Dickie dome and ag barn ain't got squat to do with readin, writin and rithmatic. IF we hadn't built the dickie dome....if, if, if. Now, for a little "all about me". I'm still paying on this dickie dome AND this ag barn so I'm (ME) all taxed out. However, I'm sure the school board would be happy to accept donations from some of the "haves" around here. Well now, did I cover just about everybody?

I don't have a child in or anywhere near the middle school but even I can see we need a new one. The old one is falling apart and not even remotely secure and safe. It's not like the taxes will be that big of a cost to each person. How do we expect our kids to learn how to take care of responsibilities when we won't take care of them?

Doesn't it make more sense to vote on a bond that is LESS expensive to IMPROVE and UPGRADE what Henderson ISD already has, rather than build another NEW school? Total waste of money to start completely over when a less expensive bond would solve the problem! I'm voting NO if the bond is for a new middle school. Third time is charm!

Maybe we should teach our kids to take care of what they have instead of just expecting brand new things. Last time I was in the middle school it was obvious that everything wrong is from not keeping it up. And you know dam well the board knew it needed repairs when they built the dickey dome, they just didn't care because they thought they could just slip a bond by. It's a slap in the face to pay cash for something you don't need and to expect to finance something that you do need so If you wanna tug on the heart strings and hollar oh the kids then start by making the board answer for not fixing the school when they HAD the money.

If administration moves to Chamberlain, does that mean the school on N. High St. will also be demolished? Makes NO SENSE, if that's the future plan.

These people won't spend 5 dollars a month on the children of this district. But u can bet they will shove a BIG MAC that cost 6 dollars down there pie hole. Stop all the complaining about the dickey dome and new ag. barn. The students of HISD need the support from all the people in this district. To all the people who are complaining about how the school board spends money..... when was the last time u attend a board meeting. I bet never. Vote Yes

I will not get i a long drawn out debate, but apparently a lot of people have not taken the opportunity to tour the middle school. Please take that time when you can. I also would like to make some aware of certain things. First the Student Activity Center was not built with bond money, not is/was the new ag center so you are not still paying for that. Yes there may have been some better usage of monies, but what is done is done, so be adult about it and let's put that behind us.
The old middle school is not such that you can just go in and do a little update here and there, but is so out of date and really not a safe venue for the students. I don't mean safe in the sense of violence, but in the number of buildings and access for the students. The buildings are not acceptable for ones with handicaps or other special needs, but the whole of the buildings are not environmentally good for the students nor a good learning environment. I may not have the exact numbers, but am very close. We have approx 725 students in the school now. Each class room is totaly full and even some that were not intended to be class rooms at the time it was built. I approx 3 years we are expected to have around 900 students there and no where to put them...how does portable buildings sound again. see next posting

We have to be responsible and provide for out future students. The old school is not and can not be brought up to meet the technolgy progress that is going on in this country. Every thing that is being presented on the bond is strictly educational, and would provide a decent place for our kids to get an education. We must put our kids and future ahead of our own intrest, as these will be the ones running our country and city, and also will be providing for your well fare in the future. Do you want someone making decisions that was not provide a chance to have the best education that we can give them.Granted this means that we have to spend money. I am not a proponent of raising taxes, and it would benefit me to have them wait 3 more years, but I can see the need and am willing to take on the extra cost now. Please take the time and make an effort to see for yourself what the old school is like, and I think that you might agree. Please make a informed, rational decision when you vote and don't vote just because you did not like what happened before or you are not aware of how things are at the school. I will try to answer any questions you may have or will get you and snswer, but on rational question. Thanks for your time.

Jack if it was left up to some folks the high school would still be on Richardson Drive and there would not be an A/C unit anywhere in HISD. Hill would still be an intermediate school and of course that lovely structure on High street would be Jr High. An informed rational decision is something that a lot of folks are unable to make. Jack are ya still at the place formally known of as TXU
