If you can do better then step up and take over. It is hard to produce a "broadway" show with such limited funding. Most that try to help out, direct and organize also have full time jobs and families to take care of. Offer your assistance and open your wallet if you want it to become better!

Like I was saying it was being done in the past and I have been in over 185 shows and was with the players and other local organizations. I know how it works and also was funding the arts in Rush County but when it gets the way it is now there is no way. No fundraising and no shows worth seeing. Not worth my time. Sorry.

What a fabulous forum to smear one of the oldest surviving theatre companies in the state. If you have better ideas or think you can improve things, then volunteer. We ARE doing fundraising, always, but like everyone else, this economy has hit RCP hard. Of course, the fact that former members used this group to finance personal events and agendas didn't help. No organization is perfect, nor made up of all perfect people. Remember, he who is without sin may cast the first stone. If you are who I think you may be, you have no business casting stones.

RCP works hard to give the youth of this community somewhere to go, something to do, and a way to learn the many wonderful things participating in theatre has to offer. We give adults who have the "acting bug" somewhere to go, to participate in shows, and make friends who become family. We try to do a variety of shows, both well known, not-so-well known, and original. Otherwise, how will such shows BECOME well known? Last year, RCP presented "It's a Wonderful Life," and "Oklahoma!"I am fairly confident BOTH of those shows are well known.

We also participate in the community, helping to raise funds for other organizations. Ask the Boys and Girls Club, ARC of Rush County, and the Community Food Bank.

Members drift in and out. That will happen with over 30 years under our belts. Old members are always welcome to come back and participate, just as new members are always welcomed, too. If you indeed are a past member, and want to bring your "over 185 shows" of experience back, please do so. However, if your intent is merely to smear people who are trying to entertain their community while providing an enjoyable outlet for many participants, please step back.

I am proud of my over 30 years of experience with RCP, and will continue to participate as long as I can. I encourage ANYONE who wants to find out what RCP is REALLY all about to come to a show, audition for "Miracle on 34th Street" at the end of September, or just volunteer with us. You will find that the slander leveled again us is just that.

Thanks, Rush County, for your years of support.

I have not been involved in as many shows or years as some of you but here are my two cents on this. I love RCP. I love what it gives to my children. As far as the drama off stage it happens in almost every group around. I know of many splits and cheaters through my work and other jobs. Not justthe RCP. Why is it that we all can't just get along and do what we can to preserve the arts here. I know that everyone is not always pleased with selections of shows but we do try our best. You can't always please everyone. We do want to try . For example board wanted to do "Music Man" no one stepped up to the plate to direct it. I am directing miracle on 34the th street. I think it is well known. Please offer your suggestions to us or even call me if you don't like others that's fine. I will be glad to relay to the board without names. I just want this to stay around for my kids because they love it so much and so does the rest of my family. I also want to say Bill I admire you for putting your name on your comment. My mom always said if you believe in what you say put your name on it.

I am here visiting family and came to see my niece in the show and i was very dissapointed. The show was very unorganized and could of had a lot more potential! I have been coming to town for a long time seeing shows and have seen some great ones.... ANNIE JR by far has been the greatest one. WONDERFUL TALENT BY THE KIDS..... costumes, set, props and dancing were fantastic.... The last several shows i have seen have not been that at all.! Hope it has a turn around soon or its going down!

RCP will be able to do more shows, in better venues, when we can afford it. Unhappy with what is going on? Again, I invite you to volunteer, make a donation, put some action behind your criticism. Otherwise, yours are just empty words, bent on taking down an organization here to do good.

As A Board Member of The Rush Co. Players, I can personally speak for myself and my family. Having been a Director of the Recent past Production "The Best of Broadway" we had our snags and we had some drama off the stage. but in the end. we had pulled off one heck of a show. My children performed in the recent Little Rushcals, I couldn't be more proud of them and the Cast. and Yes they had there challenges as well. One thing is for Sure, this is a volunteer organization. Its been said on her once and will be said again. we all have full time jobs. finding volunteers is hard to come by. Finding someone that is interested in the business side of thing is not as easy as one would thing. its fun to be in the shows and its fun to be apart of the organization. but when it comes to business its another world. We as an organization are always open to new and fresh ideals and would love to hear from anyone. Our president of the organization has tried to respond several times and for some reason the one time it did post it then was somehow removed. The arts need support no matter what sector. if you start picking them apart with crude comments and slashing of Directors and shows. you not only hurt the the Business aspect you hurt all those involved. So what if this show was not your taste of event. no one forced you to come. We have produced two big Broadway shows last season. Its a Wonderful Life, and Oklahoma, and we are doing two more this season ,The Music Man and Miracle On 34th Street. so that even goes to prove your information is incorrect. if you wish to trash something at least have your information correct. the amount of shows you have done is irrelevant compared to your lack of intelligence. you only make yourself look uninformed and uneducated. Every-ones actions have an opposite and equal reaction. i just hope you know that. We work hard and I will speak on behalf of myself, My Show and one Heck of an awesome Organization. We may now always do what you want that's because we choose to volunteer and you didn't so if you want something different then do what was advised earlier. Volunteer or open up your wallet and support. Memberships are as low $15.00. and again if you have questions concerns please feel free to leave your NAME (as I have done) and a phone number where you can be reached or call our phone number listed in the phone book. I would like to give a shout out to my Kids Dominick and Ethan Evans and the Cast and Crew of the "little Rushcals" you did an awesome job and we are proud to call you the Future of RCP. Keep up the great work!!!

Someones actions/former actions/unknown actions on the outside does not reflect the image of the organization. just like you could be one of the swingers as you are so aware of what is festivities are going on but were not judging you. I/We are very proud of what RCP stands for and for that alone, providing a fun safe atmosphere for theater. We do not promote any sexual activities or other mischievous activities as you refer to. just Family, fun, and Theater. As far as sharing my children's names and my own. you can find them anywhere it is public knowledge. And the fact that we do shows is published in RCP records, Show programs, Rushville news paper, Radio and so much more. and as someone who had done so much theater of their own and with RCP I know that your information is out their as well. Most of this banter back and forth is not relevant to the mission or current status of RCP I hope that you will look beyond your personal situations with whom ever you have issues with and allow yourself the opportunity to have a great time, but please don't ruin it for others. The Future of RCP is Bright and looking great We hope you will be a part of it!

I was once told the same malicious and fictious rumors by local colleagues, but have not found one ounce of truth to any of them. What I did find was a group of highly dedicated adults trying to keep the arts alive in Rush County. I found people that sacrifice time with their families, personal fortune to provide sets, props and costumes for plays for the residents of Rush County and for some what might be the closest they get to a Broadway play. I found some of the best friends I could have asked for in times of personal trials. I found people of varying faiths, political affliations, and economic situations. All of which are willing to civilly speak with you about your concerns even after you have maliciously smeared their names, to hear your opinions even after you have maligned an orginization they dearly love, and would happily accept you in to their group to volunteer as stage help, an actor, making sets or costumes or by financially supporting RCP as a member. I seriously encourage anyone that has heard these mean-spirited gossips and their drivil to do as I did and make the decision for yourself by becoming apart of RCP or one of this seasons shows. As my father always told me" If you are not part of the solution, you ARE part of the problem".

Kudos to the RCP. I found it wonderful to see you all working your tails off at the park, while I took my daughter to play! That right there shows effort. It's a shame to read bitter people's comments, but you can't fix ignorance. BUT you all are doing wonderful& you guys deserve to hear it more often! So, here's my shout out! GO RCP!

I am a Board member of RCP, and have been involved in one way or another with this group since being asked by Marcia Blair in 1980. My children have been raised on the stage. My best friends and my children's god-parents are all a part of this group. These people have been here for me and mine in good times and in bad. Rumors have circled RCP for my opinion, simply because we do all care about one another so much, some people don't understand how it can NOT be in a more debased way. We genuinely care about one another, as a FAMILY, and we are doing everything we can to keep this group alive for future generations. I am sorry that you had a bad experience. Life is not all roses and sunshine. Everyone hits a bad apple occasionally, but for every bad experience, there are 10 wonderful ones.
As others have said, come back. Volunteer. Support your community, your friends and neighbors, and the youth of this community as they TRY to do good things. Oh, and my children? Amanda Locchetta (BSU Dean's List 4 semesters and counting), Steven Locchetta (5th in his senior class at RCHS). My older daughter discovered she was not meant for theatre, but other things.
Please, if you have something constructive to give, please do.

I heard all the talk around town about this so i had to get on and look. I did not even know this website existed... but anyways, all this bs is a bunch of crap. Why do people have to pick on a group that allows the children and adults to get involved in.. I have been involved for many years with this group and have had a great time and have met wonderful friends that now call my family. I have seen kids from itty bitty on stage and now grown up and loving theatre. I to myself have done many roles with RCP and wouldnt take any of it back... it takes alot of time and dedication and it can not be done by one person. keep the arts in Rush County and the only way that can happen is by the audience.

There are a few decent individuals i admire involved but the majority (as I've become very familiar with them over the years) are lower class based on how they choose to behave and I wouldn't want to be associated nor would I want any children I had to be either. Your life outside does have an affect especially those who choose to swing which is 100% not BS. Toward each other they are a family but to an outsider all I've heard when around is gossip and bad behavior for being adults. Like I said there are certain ones who have good morals and are respectable to the public but as for the others, they need to leave the organization or it's going to continue to get worse. I am all for the idea of what it promotes and I hope they realize if they want it to grow they MUST clean house and clean up their image.

As for the "swinging," I don't know what you are talking about. Thank you for calling my family and friends "lower class." We are accepting to everyone. I don't know what issues you have had with RCP in the past, but if you don't want to be involved, that's fine. However, let others make up their own minds. I love this group, and am trying to do everything I can to keep it alive and thriving. Again, sorry for any bad experiences you've had. If you want to talk specifics with anyone, I am on the Board, and my information is out there. Contact me.
