Yeah, those Rushville school administrators see bullying as "Bullies will be Bullies, it's just part of growing up." But you can't allow a defenseless little kid to be assaulted like that right in the middle of school and let the bully get away with it. No, you gotta sue the bully's parents and school administrators. Make 'em suffer financially.
(Unless the victim's parents hire a hit man to rough-up the bully? But we don't wanna go there.)
Hopefully this lawsuit will wake up the Rushville school administrators to in-school assaults, beatings, and intimidation. If they won't clean up their act voluntarily, the courts will force them to.

Are you kidding me? Bullies will always be bullies. How about the victim stand up for himself? If you let yourself be a victim guess what you will be? A victim!

Not if he's 50lbs lighter & 6 inches shorter. When a bully has an unfair physical advantage like that, the victim has no chance.
Let's put the bully in the ring with a guy that weights 50lbs more and 6 inches taller and let the bully get a taste of his own medicine. I'd pay to see that!

Really if this happened to two adults out on the street it wouldn't be bulling. It would be assault the person would go to jail and have to pay court costs fines and pain and suffering. Why should it be any different just because they r children. When u go to work your co workers can't beat u up and everyone be like oh well they shouldn't be a victim. School is our children's work.

Good luck to the parents on getting any money out of the Rushville school system! My child wasnt being watched and was injured in kindergarden. She had to see plastic surgeons an now has a scar on her face for the rest of her life...We fought for five years now and all she will end up with out of this is chicken feed to most people!

Unfortunately, kids are not allowed to fight back in school because they will also be in trouble for fighting. Kids are advised to tell a teacher if someone punches, threatens, etc. Of course, it is hoped that in the event something happens where there is no time to inform a teacher that the kid who fought back will get a break.

FIGHT BACK AND STAND UP FOR YOURSELF! So what if you get in trouble too! It's school they are learning life lessons. They are kids! Kids get in fights! I was picked on in school and fought back. I got 3 days ISS. Were my parents mad? No, because I stood up for myself! Did I get picked on anymore? Very little because they saw that I would stand up for MYSELF! The only person that cares about you IS YOU! So take care of yourself.

How about we put armed guards in schools and they taser or pepper spray the kids when they fight. Heck shot them in the leg!

Only ones that are going to suffer is the other students. Paying out a lawsuit only amounts to more budget cuts for our kids' classrooms. The bully should be punished, not the school system. But Swim is right. Bullies have been around as long as there have been people. It won't be stopping anytime soon so best teach your children to defend themselves against idiots whose parents obviously never taught them any better.

When a bully attacked me, I fought back. You know what I got for my trouble? The bully rounded up several of his friends and then they all took turns beating on me, that's what. When you got two guys holding me and the other one punching me in the stomach, no way could I stand up for myself.
Growing up in Rushville was a horrible experience.

The school has insurance to cover lawsuits. Kids or anybody can stand up for themselves without fighting. Teaching them to be violent instead of using their head is just crazy. Yeah we just need more violence in this world don't we. This is why we have kids acting like this cause they get it from their parents.

Lets all hold hands and sing or some crap. It's not like bullies just magically appeared in the last 10yrs. People need to get over this stuff. Can you even play dodge ball in school anymore? It's probably to violent. If you guys want to raise a bunch of Dr Quinn medicine woman's go ahead. Stand up for yourself. "Tell a teacher" or blind side the bigger kid who is picking on you with your math book as he comes around the corner and stomp him in the nuts. Someone isn't going to get picked on anymore. And lawsuits aren't the answer for everything! Everyone just wants to make a buck. Drive our taxes up because the schools insurance went up. Better yet just close them and the parents can raise there special sensitive children at home where nothing bad will ever happen to them.

Yeah, people need to stop fretting over getting bullied and start getting even. Carry a small billy club and brass knuckles with you at all times. Hire some big dude to beat the hell out of the bully. And some bring in Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson to level out the playing field. That's not recommended but extreme bullying sometimes calls for extreme measures.

And just like all insurance, use it and premiums go up. Resulting in the need to cut other things to cover the increase. This is ridiculous. The bully made the decision to attack this kid and he should be punished. It is not the fault of the school system.

Swim...YOU"RE an idiot!!Apparently you have no kids in school. If they allowed kids to"take care of it themselves",the next thing you know we have shootings,stabbings,etc..That' s NOT what anyone wants.I will agree that a large amount of money in a settlement isn't necessary. But,there needs to be a suitable punishment to send a message it won't be tolerated. This shouldn't be about money. It's about the safety/lack of violence for ALL kids!!

How would all you "retaliation" people think if your child or grandchild got caught up in someone else's getting even with someone else?? Innocent bystanders of the whole situation, killed because they were in the wrong place. You would be pissed! Then what, more getting even?It HAS to be controlled.
