I drove through my hometown this past weekend as I visited some friends in C'ville. What the heck is going on? All I heard about was how Mike Pavey was going to magically transform Rushville into a shining city, and all I saw was the same old trash as I always saw. Trashy buildings. Oh, and painted lions all over the place. Some looked pretty kool but all in all looked like so much trailor trash. No new construction, no new businesses except a trashy toy store(?) Extreme disappointment. Mike Pavey hasn't done anything he said he would. Just a trashy old town just keeps getting worse.

Surely you jest. Mike Pavey has been meeting with untold numbers of companies interested in building in Rushville. Watch for many development plans to be unveiled in the coming months.

There is construction all over America(except Rushville). Try Indianapolis. Construction is booming. Office buildings. Retail buildings. Some manufacturing. You don't get around much, huh Fred. If you get on the internet you'll find all kinds of information

I understand. You hafta feel for us who have to live here. because of economics I can't move. I have my house and its worth about half what it should be becuz alot of other houses around me are dumps. The mayor hasnt done what he said we have no jobs worth a dam. Its embarassing. I don't even want my friends coming by here becuz the town keeps goin downhill.

I feel for you. I just moved here a couple years ago (roommate) and I regret it. It sucks. Nothing here and no jobs.

People act like they can't get out of rushville. It is not hard, I did it. I also plan on coming back in a few years and getting involved in the community. That's what is wrong. Everyone wants to complain. Get involved with the community.

Get involved? You really need to come back and look at the garbage there is to get involved in. Other than the St. Paddie's drunkfest, this town is dead. Everything else is garbage. Ifthere was a garbagefest, Rushville would be the best in the state.

There are a lot of things to get involved with. Maybe even start something. Like maybe an annual run of some sorts. 5k 8k. Local business night on Main Street with wine tasting or something during the summer. Ice skating rink during the winter down at the amphitheater with Christmas music and a tree

If you show that you care about your community eventually other people will take notice and take an interest too.

This has gotten the community nowhere and you have to have goals of growth here for this to work.I for one have everything I have invested in living here and I would loose everything but the shirt on my back if I move.So you see I am not as lucky as people just passing thru with no investment.Maybe in the furture I will just walk a way.I should have check this community out before moving here 8 years ago and I have been thinking this will be the year that there will be some good and change. This has not happened yet.

Have you done anything? Or just another person complaining? If everyone used all the time and energy wasted complaining and put it in to doing something for the community things might be different. You can't sit back an wait for someone else to do it for you. Get involved!

The community is not providing good jobs or any growth.I don't care how much you sugar coat it,you still end up at the same place you started. Its to bad our community leaders cannot focus on real issues. The real prolblem is only the people that live here are doing anything about it ,while our city leaders are not doing what they are suppose to,and if you say they are then we would be talking about growth.Instead we are talking the people working on cleaning the town up.

Jobs and growth!? Is that all you people can complain about? That has nothing to do with cleaning up the city! You can't sale the city to business if it looks like shit. Take pride in your town! I can remember when downtown looked nice. Windows painted up and all that jazz for the holidays. Basically when people cared and almost all the houses on main looked nice. It all comes down to taking pride in your town/community and when you do others will notice and do the same.

You are all missing the real point. The real issue is painted lions. That is what brings jobs and growth. Thank you.

While the lion thing was kind of a good try. There should have been more too it. We need to learn how to promote the town more. Lion pride run? More community events. Business dont bring pride to a community the people do! So stop bringing you town down. If you think and do good things good things will happen!
