Bet they slap his wrist and tell him not to do it again. I would prefer to see McCullough put in jail for at least 20 years and fined $1.7 million for each count. How dare he poison the environment. Alas, I am just a person trying to understanding...oh I get it...could it be about money?

They need to hook up the waste water lines to his fresh water supply lines. Let him have a little degreased and derusting water back in his fresh water supply line to drink and shower with.

Agreed. Make his family -- wife, children and grandchildren -- bathe and and drink it.

Human waste. That's all this guy is. Human waste.

People are so eager to "crucify" someone before they know all the facts. You read one article and make comments like these. You are ignorant people.

I bet no one on here has ever made a mistake. I'm sure you've all gone to a store and your car has leaked a little oil in the parking lot. Well, you know what happens after that? It rains and the water flows into the sewer and then it's refined and we drink it! Bastards! How dare you all pollute our environment like that! All of YOUR families should have to suffer!

i happen to know PERSONALLY that it WASN'T about money. You know how much they saved by doing that? about,$150. Wow...you should be a detective!...idiot.

Unfortunately, the Indianapolis Star is very one sided, therefore all of its readers are more than likely not getting all the story. In fact, if one were to go on the Indiana Department of Environmental Management website, they would find that 60-some-odd% of Indiana creeks and rivers are found to be unfit for human inhabitance, and the origin is not known. Where is the EPA, IDEM, and the federal prosecutors when trying to find the cause of this? People, we don't always get all the story!!!

Indy Star is notorious for printing half truths. You folks should feel cheated because you only got 1/4 of the story.

Being from shelbyville and living there when this story broke in the shelbyville news and the indy star. It was local wastewater workers that discovered the mess and turned it over. Someone said you don't know all the facts. I know enough facts. Shelbyville workers find the damage, it is traced back to Miller Environmental, this business caused damage, and the owner should pay fines for cleanup and violating the act. Yup, looks like the facts are pretty straight to me.

This is a common occurrence. Having worked for a chemical company, in the wastewater treatment industry, selling water treatment chemicals and products to industrial facilities, I can tell you this happens regularly. One of the ways we would drum up business is contact the local wastewater treatment plant and find out who their local violators are.

You more than likely wash more waste down the drain then they did. Everything goes thru a waste plant to detoxify everything out before it reaches your homes. Like one person wrote, your car has probably leaked oil or transmission fluid at one point in time and it went to the same place. Think before you move your lips.

As a matter of fact he does. Some very fine people. It is amazing how you can make these statements against people you don't even know. You have no facts about this case. Only thing you know is what the paper alleged to be the facts. Any fool can make up a story with out facts to sell to the paper. Now who is out for money?
