Does anybody know what happened to all the employees that used to work at Save-A-lot/ Marsh. I know Kevin went to Kroger's and that's about it. When Save-a-Lot closed I was told that the new owner sent some one over to tell them they had jobs and then hired from out of town. The manager is from Indy or New Castle. I keep getting a different answer when I ask. The office person is from the Connersville store. Wonder what was wrong with the Marsh office people? I will not support a store that does not hire here. I miss Marsh and the employees. They were all really nice. They missed out when they didn't hire the girls in the office at Marsh. Shame on Save-A-Lot!

I really miss Marsh!!!!!!!!! All the local employees were friendly and it felt like you were home. I miss seeing Margaret, Kileen, Kelley, Sara, Mike, Ron, Mike the meat guy!!!!! The new store and Kroger's should try to locate these people and hire them. They were all great people. Shame on the new store for not seeing this. I for one hope the store does poorly! Save-A-Lot. You can save on name brands at the name brand stores when there is sales on the items. Who needs this second rate store. Bring back the nice people who worked years at Marsh. They really cared about their customers.

I was just in the new Save-A-Lot and the people who work there were rude.. I will never set foot in that store again. Kroger here I come. The cashier assumed I was on food stamps and acted like I was a bother to her. I needed help with WIC and nobody there could help me find the correct cheese. They even acted like they didn't take it yet, if so what are they waiting on. I went to Kroger's! Kroger has my business. Also when I asked to speak to a manager no one came to talk to me.

I am not happy with either grocery store in town but I would have to say that Kroger's is the better place to shop. What happen to friendly? What happen to smiling people who greeted you and wanted your business. Days gone bye!!!! The younger generation don't care about that service today but in a few years they will. Good customer service is the key. Key people in those roles is what is needed. How many times when you go to a store the cashier is worried about what time she or he goes home or don't even address you the customer. The Marsh employees that waited on me always cared about me and helped me when I needed it. I miss this courtesy. I miss the Margaret's, Kileen's, Sara's, Ron's. I can't believe that Save-A-Lot did not want to hire these amazing people. I can't believe that I don't see these people out in customer service roles. What is wrong with the owners of these business's? I guess they didn't know a good thing when its right in front of them. How sad for this community.

I can see that another store will come and go. The new Save-A-Lot looks real slow again. I'm sorry for the employees that work there just like the other employees from the Marsh and old Save-A-Lot who the new owner didn't give a chance. You reap what you sew and looks like he is. This town really needs a name brand store so maybe Walmart will finally build a new Super Walmart here. I can only hope. Kroger's keep up the good customer service that brings customers in every time. What does the public think?

No super walmarts! Are you people too stupid to see that they drive out other local businesses? And just bring in low paying jobs. At least Kroger pays their employees a decent wage. Walmart sucks. You need to do your research!

You are joking, right? Kroger's good customer service? I will tell myself that the next time I have to wait 5-10 mins at the deli while the 5 employees behind the counter ignore me. The reason people keep going back to Kroger is that they don't have a choice here in Rushville. Sav-a-lot has limited items and Kroger has the only deli in town with lunch meat. That's Kroger's victory by default.

Not gonna happen. Rushville is too tiny, too dinky. Besides, no need to waste money building a Super Walmart in Rushville when the locals are more than willing to drive to the Super Walmarts in Shelbyville & Greensburg.
Walmart executives know this and is why a Super Walmart in Rushville will NEVER happen.

Save-A-Lot was founded by Herb Baumeister, the serial killer from Hamilton County years ago. I will never support that business no matter who owns the franchise now.

Have you actually read this guy's story? The Sav-a-lot he founded was a thrift store not the grocery store. Here ua go, educate yourself. http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/...

That's an interesting Herb story! I had not seen that before. But it makes perfect sense that a serial killer's business would locate in Rushville. We've got that Sloanee guy up for child molestation charges and along with Herb, Rushville is the perfect location for those two.

We don't have a Sav a lot thrift store in Rushville. We have a Sav a lot grocery store. They aren't the same thing.

So, no jobs in town is better than low-paying jobs?? Walmart also sells every item at a lower cost than any other store can sell it. I will ONLY shop superwalmart for grocery store items.

A lot of people in Rushville feel that way. That's why you see so many Rushville folk in the Super Walmarts over in Shelbyville, Greensburg, and Greenfield.
Which is why we will never have a Super Walmart in Rushville.
Why waste all that money building a Super Walmart in Rushville when the locals happily shop out of town?
