This is typical of Belleville's politics, but not limited to them. It extends throughout St. Clair County politics and polititions. From over-spending, such as this incident, to perpetual "boondoggles", such as Mid-America airport, to over-taxation from faulty property assessments, these are our political leaders.
It's time for new leaders.

The entire reason why he wants this new park is so they can get more tiff money and be able to annex more land into the city. This will add more population to the city so it will become democrat and not the good government party due to population. He will then have the democratic party to help him get voted in again. This is what the mayor told me at least. And has anyone actually looked where this new park will be - it is located at the old Anglers Club, useless land. And the mayor probably got a kick back from the current owner to his next election. Ask Phil Elmore (alderman) he knows the truth and is not affiliated to the mayor. And this also leads question to the rental property the mayor has issues with, those people tend not to consistently vote because they are not the permanent owners of the houses they rent. At the last election he had a person running against him and the mayor found a loop hole to get that person kicked off the ballot. From what I hear many people want him out, because they just want to be left alone and he is always up in every citizens business in the city. I wish I could tell you more but an scared for my family since he gets rid of people that speak up against him - all I can say is eventually it will catch up with him.

Great story - people need to know this stuff - good job Elliott!!!!!

BOYCOT Eckert's. He's a relative. He's got TIF's going on and no money for them. He is bad news. So, Belleville, VOTE HIM OUT!!!!

Thanks "You Paid For It" for making Eckert's day for him. It is always a pleasure to watch him try to lie his way out of yet another scheme he is using to rip the citizens of Belleville off. Please vote him and his band of theives out. It is time to bring responsible and honest leadership to our community.

Belleville paid the owner more than six times what the land was worth according to St. Clair County Assessors.

Kick backs galore!
