Friends with a married couple and I know one of them is having an affair but the other spouse is clueless. Should something be said to the non cheating spouse?

1 I wouldn't tell them. Some how, some way, it will turn on you and you will be the bad guy. They will stay together and you will lose a friend or two. Just my opionion. |

This is really a hard position for you to be in. The clueless one deserves to know. If my husband were cheating on me I would want to know and I would expect a good friend to tell me if they knew something was going on. Yes you could end up being the bad guy by telling them but if you are good friends with this person and you are 100% sure the other is having an affair, I think you should tell them. I knew someone who was cheating on her husband and I should have told him but I didn't. He eventually found out and they divorced but it took awhile. It was sad, he was a really great guy and she was a royal b*tch, she didn't deserve him.

I know people who have told the clueless spouse and ended up losing them as a friend. Because the cheating spouse turned it all around and lied their way out of it. Made it look like the friend was just trying to start trouble. But, if it were me, I want to know. It's a tough spot to be in.

This is a situation when it would depend on your own beliefs and how comfy you are with tellin facts if they are a couple and you are 100% sure when you tell you dont do it behind the back of the cheater but instead do it while they are aware and know it is coming from you and you dont approve and that you are wanting to make situation better not worse. That is my opinion

Thats why they had "crime of passion laws" back in the day. Guess they should have thought about that before they betrayed their "UNION". Most of the time nobody dies because of these types of situations. They have the right to know what is going on, Period.

1 So you enjoy sticking your nose in someone else's business? How would you like it if they stuck their nose in yours? |

The victim in the relationship has a right to know. Just make sure that you can prove it when you tell them. They should appreciate your honesty.
