Botanically speaking a watermelon is a fruit because of it's seeds. The rest of the U.S. thinks Oklahoma is a very backward state and this will just add fact to their fiction. Please consider our great state's image and all the school kids who are being taught in science and nutrition education about fruits and vegetables. Are there not any vegetable growers who will stand up and ask their product to be considered for the state vegetable? Why do we even need a state fruit or vegetable?

As you stated,Watermelon is a fruit.
If it has seeds it`s concidered a fruit.
Yes, that goes for, tomatoes, and any "vegatable" that contains seeds is, in actuality, a friut.
