Lewisburg Farmer's Market-- The local trash buy produce at walmart with their welfare card and sell it for cash down the street, on public space of course. Maybe they have to split their pill money with the local authorites.

It sounds to me like those of you complaining are maybe vendors from the Lewisburg Farmers Market and are jealous that the Greenbrier Valley Farmers Market is doing so well. It was absolutely packed on Saturday, where the other one had about 3 customers! lol, it also sounds like you can't afford to shop at the market!

If you don't like the prices, then dont buy. If you don't like those who are trying, then dont go where they are. If you have a better idea, impliment it. We love to see new "legal" money making ideas take off!

How does someone get the squirts from cookies? What kind of cookies were they? I guess you ate nothing else that day? If you thought they were so expensive, why on earth did you buy them? This sounds like someone making stuff up!

People are so jealous and so stupid!

It's plain to see the good ole days of stopping by a farmers road side stand to get great produce at reasonable prices just so the farmers extra produce didn't go to waste are long gone.

Now we have farmers markets conveniently located, but the farmers are too proud of there produce to ever let it go at reasonable prices. They would much rather take it home and throw it on there compost pile to rot.

Now would be a great opportunity for a farmer to setup a road side stand! I'm sure he would sell out on a daily basis! He may not become a millionaire at it, but he would at least make enough to survive.

I don't think those days are gone yet. There are still places like that...just not in Lewisburg city limits.

You spelled "implement" incorrectly. Did they not teach you how to spell in hippy school?

Don't forget to mention what a joke Looneyburg's historical society is as well.
The historical society, the public library, the restaurants like Julian's....they are all operated by imbeciles. If the tourists only knew how childish and ignorant the "leaders" of this town are, they wouldn't bother dropping their money here.

Oh, no wait, if you were an English teacher you would have realized that not only is the word not spelled correctly is it also used incorrectly in the sentence. But since you are so smart, you didn't even realize that I was taking up for you and those like you, Real Farmer!

No let all the 'real farmers' tell us all how it was so great when they where farmers, nothing ever went wrong, we just licked the farmer's butts & everything was fabuloso! Isn't that how farms worked?

I don't mean to offend or say anything negative about your culture, but could you please not write in ebonics on this topix site. "You not getting" is hard for us white folks to understand upon first reading.

I have visited the markets in Monroe and Greenbrier counties, but wasn't very impressed. The Union market had very little produce to sell, but had lots of arts and crafts. They should change the name to flea market instead of farmers market! What little produce they had was highly overpriced for the area!
The Greenbrier markets had lots of produce but you would need to take out a 2nd mortgage on your home to purchase them!
I grow a garden every year and know what goes into it, but come on those prices are ridiculous!
I visited these markets in late spring hoping to get some early vegetables from some of the people that have greenhouses, but at that price I will just wait on my garden to produce!

Boy you sure are a nice one! No reason to resort to name calling. I'm just giving my opinion, and no thank you I do not shop at walmart. Like I stated previously I'll wait on my own gardens produce.

Be sure and ask the vendors if they use any natural chemicals on there crops. Just because it says organic doesn't mean its is free from chemicals. There is a list of natural chemicals allowed for use in organic farming, but the bad news is some of those are still bad for human consumption!
