it happened about 2 weeks ago.....a man was driving up the road in a pickup truck about 9 pm and had a seizure and ran into the front of the firehouse....he was very lucky no one was injured or he didn't hit someone or something else.

We are BEYOND in need of a new chief however, it will not happen until he retires...yes folks retires. He was lucky enough to get in on the firemens retirement. He is a bastard, sorry....but he is. He drives his personal vechicle to burning houses and then take an hour to get the truck out and to the scene...or bring a brush truck (for those who don't know those trucks DON'T have water in them) to a burning house.

It is sad that Clintonville AND Rainelle both beat Rupert to a house fire that was one minute away from the station.

I can promise you one thing, my house ever catches on fire and I will lay in the road and make Dalton Elmore run over me before I let his sorry ass come to my house.

Sorry but that's MY opinion.:)

I know one thing I have 2 neighbors who burn their garbage on a regular basis. I would love for Dalton Elmore to come up here and fine them both because half the stuff they burn give off the most obnoxius fumes I have to breath. I would turn them in personally but dont want them to have a grudge against me. And that other guy who burns all the brush in the field going into the ballpark on anjean how he gets away with that during fire season is beond me. And Im sure Dalton Elmore knows exactly where that is But to lazy to do anything about it. Little Clear Creek right beside there Dalton like you dont have an excuse to do anything about it like LACK OF WATER OR LACK OF MIND TO DO YOUR JOB

first off it is not the fire chiefs job to enforce burn laws....that falls to the DNR officers....second, it is not illegal to burn brush, not even in fire season as long as it is burned after 4 pm and the flames are gone by dawn...and as far as the brush truck to house fires, ruperts brush truck does carry water 5,000 gallons in fact and which truck responds to a fire scene depends alot on the drivers available at the time....you cant drive the larger trucks w/o a qualified driver for the large truck....no since it is a volunteer fire dept, the drivers do not have CDLs, but would u want a large fire truck which is larger than many big trucks driven by a driver who is not comfortable with driving that truck.....and in a dept of limited numbers the truck which goes out first has to do w/ the first responders and of course the smaller truck can be driven by just about anyone. yes dalton has alot to do w/ the limited numbers in the dept., but who else in town is actually qualified for the job....dalton may be a smart a** and u may have to put up w/ alot of sh**.....and yes alot of people may not like him, he does know his stuff about how to fight a fire safely and efficiently and there is just about noone else i could trust more when fighting a fire. After all thats what a fire chief is for.

Must be a hell of a brush truck to carry that much water since Clintonville's tanker only can carry 2,000 gallons of water. And for safety, I've rode by a fire in Rupert and the only ones that had there firefighting clothes on were Clintonville and Rainelle. Sounds safe to .

for one how do you know how much clintonville carries on their trucks must be one of their dumba** that think they know everything!! An 2 do you ever stop to think that maybe just maybe they might be in the buliding fighting the fire instead of stainding around with their fingers up their a** wondering how to put the fire out like most clintonville an rainelle guys do!! just saying need to stop an think before running your mouth!!!! oh an by the way rupert would be around more if clintonville and rainelle wouldnt try to run the whole west side of county an would stop jumping calls like they do an calling rupert off because they say they have it!! so please have your facts straght before running off at the mouth

As an ex-firefighter in Greenbrier county, I know you are full of sh*& when it comes to a brush truck carrying 5000 gallons of water. That would have to be a very large brush truck. I know that the Volvo White Tanker from Lewisburg Volunteer Fire Department carries 2500 gallons. Dalton Elmore is long past his prime and does need to retire, ANYONE can attest to that!

I agree with you I live just up the road from the ballpark. My neighbor burns trash every day. Smells terrible. Like you don't want them having a grudge against me. Me I do have allergies to smoke. Tears me up at times when that guy burns all that brush. My neighbor will burn anything. Seen their smoke blacker than a diesel truck don't know if thats rubber or styrofoam. But guarantee its toxic. Ive held off my cool for quiet a long time actually. But how would you make an annymous complaint about the people who do burn anything and everything. Hate to do it but something must be done. Because as you know its just going to get worse.

@ rupert vff wife: For one Clintonville and Rainelle VFD's do not try to cover the whole west end of the county. They respond because Rupert Fire Department dosen't respond to their calls, because Dalton will not all them too. So before you start bashing other departments lets make sure you have the facts right. And for second I have seen what Clintonville carries on their trucks, they have everything they need for a car wreck and or a sturcture. at least their jaws of life is on the truck not a trailer like Rupert VFD. And Dalton is the one who calls off the departments not Clintonville or Rainelle. And I have seen Clintonville and Rainelle both work car wrecks and house fires and they don't have their thumbs up their a**es. So get your facts straight!!!
