Have any of you brilliant political analysts ever considered that there is no machine or good old boy network. It is nothing more than most of the people in Ruidoso and Lincoln county are not unhappy with the general direction of things; that in fact, you are on the outside, in a small minority.

Certainly there are always things that could be done better but we do not see conspiracy or criminal behavior behind every decision made. Paranoia is a bad thing.

Apparently the majority of individuals (both Lincoln and Otero Counties) approve of Judge Parsons…..She has been a District Judge for the past 15 years. She was appointed by the governor in 97 then had to run for re-election in 98. Thereafter, she runs on her record and must acquire over 57% of the “retention” votes to hold her position. She has over 80% retention in both Otero and Lincoln Counties. Normally, and I use the term loosely, politicians must only get 50% of the popular vote +1 vote.
She needs to go

"he was charged with assault and battery ona peace officer and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, according to court documents. The court ordered Kauley to undergo treatment at the Department of Corrections facility at Las Vegas, N.M., and declared him competent following that treatment.

District Court Judge Karen Parsons found Kauley guilty in that case and sentenced him to three years of probation. Kauley was accused of violating that probation twice." From todays paper.

Three years probation? Great work once again Judge.

Tell the poor lady who was nearly killed by this loser that Parsons is doing a fine job.

We may be the minority, but the one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is NO CHANGE! Lincoln county is not unhappy with the general direction of things? Give me a break. It's harder to accept change for the better. After all those handshakes and slaps on the back and comments of what a great job you did is addictive.
Plus, maybe that new person who got elected or whatever the case may be had a mind of its own and didn't let friends, relatives, and other influences make up their minds for them change would happen. It's time to take a stand and quit thinking you will offend someone. Most of the time people aren't thinking about you because they are always thinking about themselves. Lincoln county needs strong, honest, confident leaders who will do what's right even when it's not popular.

I have worked with Judge Parsons in the past. Although I don't always agree with her decision, she takes her job seriously and with much thought. I have seen times when there was an agreement between the prosecution and defense, but she did not think it would serve justice and threw out the agreement.

Is she perfect? No, but show me show me someone who is.

I just read the cases in this weeks court roundup. The problem I see is she is clearly too kind and gives people too many chances. These people all need to be locked up. I have heard that it is mainly because the prosecutor rolls over too easily. I shall look in to this more closely and report back within 48 hours.

I completely agree on the prosecutors. They seem to be in a hurry to put a case behind them and yet rack up a "win". TOO many DUI cases plea down. Too many repeat offenders getting off too easy. If you are ever charged with a crime, get a lwyer and you'll get off with a slap on the wrist. Also, look at ll of the driveing on suspended or revoked license cases. Whay are we not inpounding the vehicles? If the dont have a car, they cant endanger our citizens.
