Excellent. Tax payer money for a recall election is saved, and Underwood and the propagandist "Support Our Schools" people are rightly defeated.

Seems there are now two board members that need to go...

Well not sure you have a clue what's going on...but now not only will we be paying a superintendent the rest of her contract, we will be paying ms. Marshall's and mr. Temples lawyer fees which now that they've gone to the supreme court are over 20,000...so sadly enough a recall would have cost the taxpayers less!

The previous board should not have extended the Superintendent's contract into the new board's term. If the majority of the new board has no confidence in the Superintendent (and apparently they don't), then they need to take action and replace her. I believe this is what they were attempting to do.

The "Support Our Schools" people forced the recall and are responsible for wasting taxpayer money for attorney fees to rightly defend Marshall and Temple. The fault lies with the "Support Our Schools" propagandists - thankfully they have been defeated.

May this decision strengthen the new board and may they take appropriate action to improve our school system.

There is a lot of should of, would of, could of being said from both sides...you now need to explain to me what person would want to apply for a job like this....I can tell you it will be one with little or no experience...any superintendent with experience will never touch a job like this...would you want to work for a split board? Resolution will never occur...the entire board should be recalled....if teachers and staff acted this way they would be fired or be put in a growth plan! A fighting board is not good for our schools...no one wins! We all lose!

In Ruidoso, loud women and silent men rule the streets. If the loud woman was kicked off the school board, she'd still run it from behind the scenes. In fact, there will not be a time in the next twenty years that she won't have a hand in the school board.

If the school board governs the school and the schools are rated as EXTREMELY underperforming, why isn't the board being overhauled from the ground up?

Why so much fear of these people.
Even the district attorney was cowering in her stilettos fearing and dreading the day she would finally arrest the "other" White Fire Bandit.

Did both members of the fine "Support Our Schools" Organization get the message now to shut the h--- up?

I don't know how to respond. Are you asking me to run for school board? Please email me details and applications. I'll do what I can.

You are right. If we do not look out the next Superintendent will be a former Principal of a glorified day care.

The Ruidoso schools are in the ditch and in no way should the previous regime by allowed to take charge again. That includes Sayner and Lutterman. They have done enough damage.

I bet we'll find some ambitious educator who believes he/she can turn things around now that the 'good 'ole boys' have been swept out and a new board with higher expectations has taken over.

The problem has been that the old board had too many skeletons in too many closets that they had to keep locked up. So of course they didn't have time to keep track of the superintendent.

That's no longer the case. There are new sheriffs in town, and they just got backed up by the NM Supreme Court.

Who drove these new school board members to the Supreme Court? The two power brokers and their old pal and friend the superintendent, none of whom can get a handle on their ego's long enough to think about the kids, and who have driven this school district into the ground during their tenure. It was all about them, never about the kids. No WOW, you do not have a clue. People in Lincoln County are getting sick and tired of having a hand full of egotistical bullies, that think they are the elite, standing in the way of positive change for this community and dictating every aspect of our lives. Change is in the air and for the first time in a long time (four years to be exact), the air smells pretty darn good. Hats are off to the brave new school board members that had the intestinal fortitude and vision to fight this battle for change. Having said that now, roll up your sleeves and get to work creating a better Ruidoso School District.

I had to laugh when John Underwood brought up the "rolling quorum" argument. He should know, he invented the term. The three county commissioners having drinks at the Race Track after the Hubbard tax vote was telling. Now that I think of it, I think John was in the same photo.

You said a mouth full and I agree completely. Let's get back to a "spirit of excellence" and show our kids we are behind them 100%!!!
