Been meaning to ask about this for a while but does anyone know why the Royse City Police Blotter has not been updated since May 6th? I like to keep up with the incedents in town. I don't know if the new police chief doesn't like the citezens knowing what is going on or not. If anyone knows who to ask, let us know.

Most of us that live in RC are unable to get any response from our city staff on unrelated issues, don't even waste any energy on seeking answers. That is why so many people do not get involved in this city. Our city operates a one way street. That is how they roll and why they'll continue to fail in leading the city in the right direction.

The RCPD has been busier the last couple of months with matters concerning promotion of officer to /sergeant, etc. It's also my understanding from the coffee shop that they have admissions from some young men pretaing to stealing stuff from cars. I'm sure our new chief'd mind set is more on protecting you than informing you of all the petty stuff you want to know about.

All the petty stuff? Really? I want to know if cars or houses are being broken in to in my neighborhood. Better to be protected and informed. Cops can't be everywhere at once so informed citizens are an assett.

Cars have been the issue lately....... & pretty much every single vehicle that was broken into was left unlocked. Pass the word to your neighbors to make sure you lock your vehicles. I'll put a word in and see if the PD can get the blotter back up and running.

The Blotter has never stopped. It just wasn't being uploaded to the website because of changes over the past year and not being sent to the right person to upload it. That problem should be taken care of now. It is & always has been posted in the Royse City Herald every Wednesday.

In reference to the Police Scanner, RCPD is not on the Hunt County channel. Rockwall County Sheriff's Office is RCPD's dispatch. Most of what you are listening to is probably around Quinlan and the other wonderful places in Hunt County.

About the cars.....use your garage! For some reason my neighborhood uses their garages for recliners, band rehearsals, and weight lifting stations. It makes the neighborhood look so bad when there are cars always outside.

Huh? Cars outside make your neighborhood look bad? That's a new one. A lot of people in RC don't have garages. My neighborhood doesn't look bad because of cars, it looks populated.I bet you have plain white walls in your house too because pictures make it look trashy. Sorry I just found this humorous.

I too live in the part of RC that is in Hunt Cnty. Try calling 911. My husband called 911 a couple of Friday nites ago about 9pm. We had a suspicious person(on foot) collasped at our front gate. The 911 operator had no idea where we were. The call bounced from Hunt Cnty, city of RC, back to Hunt Cnty, then to Rockwall Cnty. The responders to the call were RC Police, Highway Patrol, Union Valley EMT, Rockwall Sheriff and finally the Hunt Cnty sheriff. I looked to see if we had made the Herald Banner in the police incident reports and we didn't. Guess they couldn't figure out if the call was real....Hunt Cnty did take the person away because he had warrants out. It was a circus. The higway patrol officer was worried because the cows in the pasture south of us were out....I told him not to bother to call RC animal control, they never answer any call this far out. Great to see my city tax $$ at work....LOL

What does the RC leadership have to do with them calling Hunt County 911 and getting passed around? Sounds as if they arent in the city limits, so then shouldnt Hunt County have responded?

I do have a question, does the RC animal control answer calls outside the city limits or just inside the city limits. I have no idea, but maybe thats why they dont answer calls that far out.

I honestly dont know where all the city services go, if they handle just the city limits, or the parts of town outside the city limits.

Anyone actually know the answer, not just assuming you know??

We do live inside the city limits of Royse City since December 18, 2006. I voiced my concerns to the city council at the time we were annexed that we were losing Union Valley as our first responders for fire and emergency. The fact that a 911 call has to bounce around until there is a response and then the responders are from all counties seems to me that after almost 4 years it's as mixed up as the day we were annexed. I was excited to have animal control as part of my city package but every time I've called them I never get a call back or there is an ordinance that keeps them from answering my call. Hope springs eternal that RC continues not to hold up to their end of the deal and we can get out of the city limits when the contracted time is up....in the meantime we just call the cows owner to tell him his cows are out or my neighbor across the street rounds them up and back in the pasture....LOL

Thanks for the info Ann Xed 2006. Your right, your call shouldnt have to bounce around like that.

As for RC animal control, they have hired a new guy, and unfortunatley my dog got out and I had to call them. He actually called me back right away and was great to work with. Think his name was Tim. Anyway, I got a lot better response than a year or so ago when I had to call about a neighbors dog. NEVER heard back, actually found 2 police officers about midnight one night at Exxon, told them of the problem, and they had him out the next day.

Hopefully they will figure it out on the 911 system. I know that Rockwall County dispatches for RC for those in Rockwall County, so you would think Hunt County would take the call for you and call RCPD. Prayers that you never have a bad emergency!

Neighbor called 911 around midnight a few weeks back and an ANSWERING MACHINE picked up for rockwall county. Having had 2 heart attacks already that doesnt make me feel too safe out here LOL!!! My Friend at careflight now has the GPS coordiantes to the pasture behind my home ;) Anyways it took the RCPD an hour to show up,but by that time my good pal Glock and I had escorted the man ( who was higher than a kite) off of the property and down the road.to beat all RCPD had the audacity to ask me if I had permits for MY weapon!!!
I told the officer either he needed go get some more donuts at the tiger mart or go do his job and locate the strange person snooping around our homes. I get the stink eye on a regular basis from the RCPD nowdays and I assume they're just waiting for me to mess up so they can have the pleasure of pulling me over AGAIN!!! wasting my time and your tax dollars!
