Since the RCYA Junior Cheer Coach is the only reason that two youth football organizations exist, then after she leaves (this year) will the two teams merge together? The Gold team dominates the football field. The Black team will fall off the map next year without that one cheer squad. Merge them together- unite the community again. That lady destroyed Youth Football for Royse City. What a shame.

Bout time somebody stepped up and decided to something right! These divided leagues have destroyed Royse City football all the way through high school! Because they divided we cannot win from pee wee to varsity. Heck, we could not even beat Caddo Mills in the Super Bowl!! Blame this on some selfish parents, but maybe that is about to change!!

OMG. Do you REALLY think that because some of the boys on varsity were divided between 2 leagues when they were in PEEWEE that it causes them not to win??

I know that the second organization was started because of hard feelings bewteen adults in the orginal organization, but with the growth of this town there would be a lot of boys left out if there was only one league.

You cant have 50 - 60 kids on a team and expect them to all get adequate playing time. They are PEEWEE for goodness sake and the parent should be more concerend about the kids learning the game and having fun. Not about how many trophies and "supebowls" they won. All those awards and trophies dont mean anything when they get older.

Tell this to the ex-pee wee football coaches association! Many men are in this to complete their fantasy. Weed those guys out! And yes I do put some blame on these folks. The kids are burned out. They have little to look forward to because they start "homecoming" in the first grade! Then top that off by parents fighting and splitting kids up instead of building on real Bulldog based tradition! Take off those rosey colored spectacles...it happened!! And we have no one to blame but ourselves. And when you have 60 kids on one team then you need 3 teams. They all play, they all have fun. Stop stacking teams...very easy solution.

If you don't have the balls to put your name on the comment you should keep it to yourself. RCYA won't be going anywhere! There is more than enough kids in this town for both groups. So the next time you make a comment think a little bit. It's this kind attitude that divided us to begin with. Sincerely Sean Maxey RCYA commissioner]

I hear RCYA is going Tri-county? Won't this be just like the red raiders a few years back. The traveling team?

I wonder who hopeful is!!! Who else would blame this all on that lady. Lol. This city needs two maybe three leagues. Why have it under on board?? Makes no sense. This gives all the kids an opportunity to play. Win or lose. At the end of the day this is about the kids. The middle and high school coaches don't give a shit what pee wee team you played for.

Jethro and Sarah,

I dont have a kid in the league so you'll have to help me understand.

How will having one league help? If you limit it to X amount of kids, you leave a lot of kids in town that dont get to play. If you take all that sign up, you have to have more than one team in each age group. Will that work in your league? Do other teams in your conference ( or whatever you call it) have more than one team in each age group?

You dont limit anything. Every kid should play and have fun. No reason for multiple leagues. Just make more teams.

I moved here six years ago and I guess this division of teams had just happened. I have enjoyed being on the black bulldogs everyone has been nice. My grandson now plays for black so we have a few more years to see things grow and change. When I first came out here I was confused how this whole thing is ran with two different organizations. I didn't come from that in Mesquite and we did way more actives with pep rallies every Friday lots of team fundraiser. It should be one organization with many teams branching off from it so that we could grow as a whole then you would need to have zones and boundaries for each team that forms so nobody cherry picks there teams like they have been doing and you can't pout and go play for the other team because you didn't get to play or you got benched. Every one has to follow the same rules/ even coaches kids. Keep it fair and let the kids all have fun when it's not fun they don't want to play. It will take years to develop a good plan to move forward and we are still growing as a community. Happy holidays to all of you.

Lori,

Does Mesquite play all Mesquite teams, or do they get to play teams from other towns?

Mesquite is huge they only play in mesquite they had like 6 zone and 4 teams in each zone when My son played now remember my son is 28 now so I'm not sure what they have now. I know here we are smaller and have to travel to play teams but at some point I would hope we could build towards something like that.
