I can't speak for everyone else, but the problem I, as a "roadie", have with bikers is that while there are rules that they "must" follow, seldom have I seen that consideration, especially when they're in a small pack.
that's exactly the problem with the uninformed cyclists. It stereotypes the whole group when it's generally a few bad apples.

Frank- put down the big mac & fries & learn to ride a bike first then we'll talk.

Ok as an avid cyclist, we do have the right to ride on the road but with that said, in a safe manner to us and the drivers out there. Cyclists should try to hug the shoulder at all times and be aware of the cars. Taking up the whole lane is crazy and I have seen it driving around and it's not safe. Keep in mind though that cyclists might venture farther out in the road (not in the middle of the lane) if gravel/potholes/cracks/etc are off to the side and it's not safe for them. Remember the last thing you want is someone on a bike hitting a pothole and flying out in front or under your car. As for the clothes, they really help and when you into the 3rd hour of your ride and it's 95 degrees out, it helps and it helps with the wind drag. I always wear bright colored jerseys on the road especially when it is a sunny day and there is lots of tree cover. That is when cyclists are harder to see. Anything else is for the Perk and Skukyll river trail.
