Heavy Flames, Smoke Pour From VFW Post

A fire broke out Friday afternoon at a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Montgomery County.

When this fire broke out, it looke dlike a scene from a movie. There was SOO much smoke. So many people came to see what was going on. Many different stories are being told, the main story some kid threw a ciggrette by the propane tank. Who knows whats true. Thank god no one was hurt. I do think there were too amny people too close to the action. They should not have allowed people to get a s close as the did. I know people want to see whats going on, but saftey is more important.

the fire was caused by 3 minors, and they were playing with fire and burning leaves...they burnt some leaves, and they leaves were next to the building....therefore the building burnt up...3 kids chased them down the street...

It was four minors who were involved, only one is being charged. It was started from the leaves underneath the pavilion. Insurance estimate starting at $300,000 in damages. It was an accident, nobody got hurt, but there is significant damage. Three years ago the pavilion was dedicated to one of the members who was a WWII vet and served as Commander for many years there. He's 91 and it was heart wrenching to see him lose his pavilion. It will be rebuilt and re-dedicated. And rumors can stop on this submission.

why would they only charge the one? Looking at the charges- failure to prevent a catastrophe... weren't all of them responsible for not alerting the people in the building or calling 911? It seems unreasonable to try to load one down with several felonies he'll have to claim on every job application for life, and yet find the others not deserving of even a slap on the wrist. Especially considering that even the building owner believes it was accidental.

ok yeah heres what really happened. we were chillin at the vfw waitin for our friends to show up and for some stupid reason i lit a leaf on fire and then alll the leaves caught fire. it soon got outa control and we got scared and ran. it was FOUR kids not three. i went to mcyc for 29 days and i have probation and community service and victims advicate. oh yeah and jake kovach is a faggot. haha jk but yeah it was an accident and wont happen again. atleast not by me
