Why were there so many black people in Royal Oak tonight?

I don't think this is a race issue. It is a class one. There are lot of Un-classy people from Detroit / east side coming into town and causing issues in Royal Oak. The people have reacted by adding more police to deal with the issue. No more no less.

If you want to make this a race thing you are all ignorant. Bottom line is if you curse publicly, steal, litter, intimidate, break the law or go against the social norm that made the city nice. Grow up, get a job, get educated or leave. If you don't, you will eventually get caught by the 50% increase in police oficers or the cameras they are setting up around downtown to ID you in the act of your would be crime. Mess around and you will get got in Royal Oak.

Lady I have no issue with any people of any race. As I said before. But based on your ignorant and racist position on things ( and in adequate use of the English language) it has become obvious that I do not want people like you in my own. Not because of your race, but because of your class and how you blame the rest of the world for your short comings. I also do not want "White trash" in my town either. Or any trash for that matter.

Black people have no concept or awareness of their surroundings. They are only aware of what catches their attention on the short term. Thats why they mill about aimlessly and bump into other people, take whatever catches their fancy, talk super loudly into phones, talk in theaters, and get irate so easily. I politely informed him that it's MY MONEY on his bridge card anyways. Im sure he found someone else to hustle. My question is why the hell no manager threw him the hell out and had a couple boys in blue parked outside running his plates.

Mam, I have to respond to this. I would also like to preface my response by saying it is not ok for anybody to exclude any group or treat anybody poorly based on their race or gener etc. And, I think you should have the the right to work for a better environment. Everybody should. I also have nothing personally against as I do not know you, and for the sake of our country do hope you work towards all of you goals and I wish you all the success in your effort to achieve success and a home for your kids.

However, you have to see that you are being racist by presuming all those things about "white America". Just as racist as the people who made all those nasty comments about black people on this forum. Don't assume you know people or as you said "what is in their hearts".

Nobody is handed anything in this country based on ethnicity. Some people are more privileged based on weath, but that is independent of race. I grew up with many black kids that were way more privileged and spoiled than me. And in spite of that they also received full scholarships to the same colleges I went to in spite of the fact my family was poor and I had better grades. I am not debating whether or not that is right just pointing out our system is designed to help dissadvantaged people in in effort to be fair. It doesn't always get it right in the fair side, but it tries.

Not all white people are rich and have it easy. There are immigrants who come to the country every year without money, a working knowledge of English, or an education. Many of them work hard to make something for themselves just as you do. They do not get any help from anybody. There is no white fund just to give people money. There is no fund for anybody.

There are other nonwhite people like Asians who achieve more success ( on average more money) than white people. The odds are not stacked in their favor yet they succeed inspite of any would be prejudice.

Also, there are many non-greedy white people. There are many greedy black people. There are many of every kind of people. Don't presume and be racist.

People in royal oak don't look down on a guy at the store trying to scam food stamps because he is black. They look down on him because he is scamming the system designed for people who are really in need. It is not designed for people to just draw on it because they can.

This is where I get to the class thing. I think there are many un-classy white people scamming the system, swearing, teach their kids to be disobedient, and who use food stamps, are too lazy to get to work. I wish they would be more educated and not fight curse or steal. I do not want them to be in my town. I wish they were more like the The type of people President Obama and his wife are. If they were like the Oboma's no body would complain about the East Siders being in Royal Oak.

President Obama and his wife are professionals. They work hard, invest in their community, and do not blame other people for when things are tough on them. They do not try to intimidate people or start fights with people. They teach kids respect, have manners, and are polite to people. They respect the environment they are in and are curtious, speak with grace, and carry themselves with high regard. They are respected, classy, and people look up to them. I wish ALL people who came to Royal Oak were like them. I wish only people like them came.

Ok, I guess that's how I took it when she said Well Dressed Black Man, I'm not trying to make Racist comments at all, I'm really not... I know how ignorant it sounds, that was only the point I was trying to make that's all... To show the ignorance in the people I was replying too... I just want the best for everyone, even though no one is better than anyone else, people do make better decisions. See I grew up around whites&blacks and I don't want no one talking bad about any of my friends... We didn't live in the surburbs, so when I see my white friends struggle with things like Suicide & what not & OVERCOME it and never go back, YES they deserve a chance... Do u realize that I don't want to see people sagging their pants, & people with a lot of piercing EVERYWHERE. They have been prejudged. Growing up my friends did these things, but WE were also respectful to others and our parents. Some people just don't care, and we can't blame the parents all the time, some parents do all they know And the children grow up doing the total opposite. But sometimes when see a problem sometimes we just need to get to the Root...Cause we all have our own Personal Flaws,& their all not the same ones. That's Why we're suppose to be their for one another. I know we cant help everyone especially a stranger when your minding your own business. People R out of control to here u hate to even say anything to someone being rude. Theres never an excuse for being Rude for nothing at all...Im glad we were able to listen to each other& agree on something thats the reason im on Topix. Nobody is handed anything in this country based on ethnicity. Some people are more privileged based on weath, but that is independent of race. I grew up with many black kids that were way more privileged and spoiled than me. And in spite of that they also received full scholarships to the same colleges I went to in spite of the fact my family was poor and I had better grades. I am not debating whether or not that is right just pointing out our system is designed to help dissadvantaged people in in effort to be fair. It doesn't always get it right in the fair side, but it tries.

Not all white people are rich and have it easy. There are immigrants who come to the country every year without money, a working knowledge of English, or an education. Many of them work hard to make something for themselves just as you do. They do not get any help from anybody. There is no white fund just to give people money. There is no fund for anybody.

There are other nonwhite people like Asians who achieve more success ( on average more money) than white people. The odds are not stacked in their favor yet they succeed inspite of any would be prejudice.

Also, there are many non-greedy white people. There are many greedy black people. There are many of every kind of people. Don't presume and be racist.

People in royal oak don't look down on a guy at the store trying to scam food stamps because he is black. They look down on him because he is scamming the system designed for people who are really in need. It is not designed for people to just draw on it because they can.

This is where I get to the class thing. Whomever works hard for what they have doesn't want ANYBODY to take or to disrupt our environment...You all don't want it In Royal Oak, well a lot of us Don't want it where we live either. We're not giving NOONE The ok to put our neighborhoods in disarray either. I wish they would raise taxes so that we could get Cameras, their is no more Pontiac Police, were under Oakland County Sheriffs.Their doing a fine Job, but anything that can Lower crime in the neighborhoods I'm all for it
