Too bad gc has never supported a BBQ joint. Don't see that changing. Maybe if its cheap enough for the blacks to support it down there they might have a chance

Strange that Hagnauer will give this place a liquor liscense but not the billiard club. Hmm, sounds like favoritism but that is what Brother Eddie is known for.

Being that I've eaten Texas style BBQ in Texas, Memphis BBQ in Memphis, KC BBQ in KC, and Carolina BBQ in Carolina it's pretty safe to say I know what good BBQ is. As far as BBQ goes, nothing offered in GC has ever been good.

You may be educated in good food, but the common gc'ian hasn't left this area to experience any other culture other than the Midwest meat aNd potatoes they were raised on. Well done steaks smothered in ketchup is the norm here.

Also, when you say BBQ in gc, people think grilled pork steaks smothered in BBQ sauce. Talk about smoke rings or cooking low and slow and you've lost 98% of people in gc.

What was his reason for not giving you one? You had an established business down there. I respect you for that greatly.

Yes said I would have to do 70 percent food sales to get a liquor license, because of the indigent people around me.We even planned on putting in kitchen but our main sale would have been billiards and equipment.

Well I would be shocked if the micro brewery does 70% food.

Regardless what people's Opinions are on Beer downtown granite city used to be a great place to shop in the 70s let's just doing something with it! Sad seeing all the empty building! Walgreens was suppost to bring other businesses to the area but they put it on Madison ave instead of in the heart of downtown. Lets do something with the town besides crying about what's there focus on what could be there!
