Was it the gun that saved O.C. granny? June 18,2013

Page A11- Opinion page, Tuesday June 18,2013 San Gabriel Valley Tribune tells a story of a 72 year old woman protecting herself and her 85 year old husband from a 'hot' burglary at 12:30 a.m. by firing one shot from a legally owned firearm. After calling the police(where were they???) and getting no response she fired one shot missing (darn) the intruder, police later caught the suspect (after wiping donut crumbs off their lap I'm guessing). The paper then goes on to say "But is this really such a great example of hand gun ownership protecting lives and property?". YES! They go on to say that the prowler was unarmed, how the 72 year old was such a bad shot (how many times have you heard of police shooting 12 to 20 times at a suspect and not hitting them?), that such a response was excessive because the elderly couple did not know if the criminals intent was to do harm to them (guess they are supposed to be mind readers also). Write your opinion to these liberally biased papers and try, try, try to get them to accurately report, not opinionate the news.
