I heard our 2nd grade teacher resigned and that one of the girls from day care is the new teacher. That has no teaching experience nor been a teacher's aide. Has no credentials nor is she working on it. But does have a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. I'm concerned. Is day care her only formal experience with children? Can someone please verify? Thank you.

It's all in how you see the situation. "You people?" Are you referring to the parents in the room on Thursday night that complained about her unprofessional behavior? If you are, we are fully supportive of her moving on after she demonstrated such unprofessional behavior. Out with the negative. I'm looking forward to the new positive teacher.
Why is it that when someone decides they don't want to be in a toxic environment they are attacked and called "unprofessional"?
She may be gone but the negativity remains. You are quoting the admin way too much.

I know! As a parent, I was so happy to have this teacher with my child. She was so good at putting in videos and having the students roll around on the floor after lunch. I am so glad she was getting paid for that last year. This year must of been tough on her having to teach all day.
Like she said, I think she can make the best use of her time with her own children.

They key factor in our deciding to stay at Saint Bruno School was Ms. Carvalho's promise regarding hiring credentialed and experienced teachers. After all, it was the teachers that have been with our students these last years that kept the school at a respectable level, we expected the same or better. While our kids are past second grade the hiring of another inexperienced and uncredentialed teacher is just another example of the deceit our administration lays on us. Other posts on this forum were certain that there were hundreds of credentialed and experienced teachers looking for work. Why is Ms. Carvalho hiring teachers after the start of the year that have no applicable classroom experience or credentials?
After picking up our kids in daycare countless times over the last years I trust our daycare worker without reservation in that capacity. Good for her, she had the initiative and poise to get a full time job. But we're paying a full tuition into a system that is not as promised and it appears to be developing into an even deeper pit.
Many of my fellow parents say they are blessed, free of negativity and happy to see "bad" people gone. We don't feel that way. We were hoping to feel confidence in our administration as they guided us through the fiasco. We are questioning our decision and praying for relief.
To all the families out there brave enough to leave and also brave enough to stay, either one a difficult choice. Keep on praying that Saint Bruno School can become the best place possible for the students.

Please stop embarrassing Bruno parents. Here's a definition of defamation so you can stop stepping all over your... tongue. Written defamation is called "libel," and spoken defamation is called "slander."

Oh now i get it. You attack a new teacher and blame it on some one else. We got your number. Can't change what was said by video teacher to a group of us positive parents at back to school night. She told us she wanted to take care of her own children and wrote a letter to that effect and signed it.

Oh my...the chaos continues...so happy we are done with all this crap! St. Bruno is sinking...and to all you good families who still go there...please reconsider your choices or you will go down with it! I know of some great families who chose to "weather the storm" but the forecast doesn't look too promising. You and your child deserve so much better.

Funny how Jeanine and family keep reporting how "unprofessional" the teachers are and were, when she was demoted from her job. Perhaps she'd make a perfect addition to the staff at SB. She's as sour and unhappy as the administration. It also seems that she's taking video of teachers too. She sounds like the tk teacher who continues to post pictures of students on a social network. Be careful rookie, that in itself poses a huge lawsuit.

I know !! I never heard of a substitute resigning until last year at st. Bruno's when the 7th grade sub didn't want to continue her commitment because of the chaos. I guess you know it's bad when a sub wants out.

Or how about the newly hired 1st grade teacher...who was introduced one day and then changed her mind the next. That's when the interior decorator moved in.

If the teachers are soooo "unprofessional" why then did she allow two of her children to be taught for so many years by them?

The same question for the current music teacher.

The tk teacher taught by them too!
