Fred, do you have any other source to confirm? I just watched all 14 slides on that web-site, and NONE indicated that escrow had closed. The closest topic was a slide indicating they have a busing plan in place to move kids between the campuses.

Once the TEFRA hearing or approval(Claremont City Council) is complete it then goes to CECFA board for final approval. It seems that Dr. Kinel's statement that escrow will be closing the end of June is probably accurate. Go to http://www.cecfa.org/boardprocess.html for an explaination of the process.

CLAREMONT - Council members are expected to consider the issuance of $12 million in bonds for Western Christian Schools tonight.
The purpose of the money is "financing and refinancing the costs of acquisition, construction, improvement, renovation, remodeling, furnishing and equipping of certain educational facilities and certain other matters," according to a staff report.
Councilman Peter Yao described the item as "fairly routine" because there is no financial impact to the city.
"They obviously planned to expand their Claremont location," Yao said. "In order to issue tax exempt bonds, the law requires they have approval by the city."
Messages left with Karen Winter, superintendent and chief executive officer for Western Christian Schools, were not returned Monday.
YClaremont officials will also take a look at possible adoption of an official city flower. Councilmembers, if interested, could forward the idea to the Community Services Commission to work with the Claremont Community Foundation to develop a selection process.
After the process is selected, a report would be sent back to the council before the foundation's September anniversary.
Also on the agenda is a resolution to place liens on real property for non-payment of sanitation utility and sewer service billings.
There is also an appeal of the Planning Commission's denial of a special outdoor use permit to allow an outdoor
This would make you think that WCS has not recieved the Bond money yet.
HAT IN HAND EH??? What makes the council think the bond money will be used in there city? Dollars to donuts it for Upland.

Schools out. They can have the campus. They can tell themselves whatever lies they need to tell themselves to sleep at night. They will reap what they sow.

Bond issue passed last night per Liz at the City of Claremont.

Now, let me eat some words. I was under the understanding that escrow had closed by a "good" source and the fact that on Western's website that Western was moving to Upland. However, upon reading about the council meeting in Clarmont via this site, I double checked on my "source" and I jumped the gun. I apologize very much to all who I may have offended.

However, now that the Bond issue has passed, it should be soon that Western will close soon on the UCS property.

John Coleman, I apologized that I told you that escrow had closed. I meant no harm. I should have double checked before I posted.

To one and all: My post was meant to be a blessing. If you relook at my post I was praying a blessing that UCA and Western would prosper. After all, most who have posted about UCA has stated over and over that this was God's answer to their prayers.

Wow, this crow taste really bad!!!

I am posting this because I have never posted anything that is hearsay or heard without checking the facts. I blew it this time. I felt that the Lord Jesus wanted me to post this apology.

Thanks Fred. This is good news however it is just the first step in the approval process. It now has to go to the CECFA board for further approval. It is not on the CECFA board agenda for their June meeting so hopefully it makes the July agenda.
Take care.

Coworker of Karen Winter

I am a concerned coworker of Karen Winter at Hyde Park High School who is wholly concerned with how she was hired. Her previous reputation in California along with previous positions she has held show an inconsistency within her integrity. If no one else exposes the truth at Hyde Park it will eventually be conveyed to the students as rumors that would have a far worse effect than the truth. Mrs. Winter has among many, many other things, lied to the Hyde Park students and parents. One administrator who has a true heart for the students and truly cared for the future of the school has resigned due to the difficult nature of working with Karen Winter. She is the first of many and the political aspirations of the school in general lead to all the problems within recruitment. I fear for what K Winter may yet do at this school and the amount of hypocrisy she has caused that will harm the reputation of the school. Keep this school in your prayers and please inform this blog of anything that could help us and warn us of what this Head of School is capable of. Thanks

Karen Winter was permitted to resign from HP. She should have been fired. There is no gag order, but details of the resignation were never given.

The horrors of this woman know no bounds. During her five and a half months at HP, she managed to alienate and terrorize faculty, parents, and students at all levels. At the HS, our greatest fear was that she would physically harm a student. She was completely unable to control her temper or her actions.

Winter was continually taking medication and appeared emotionally and psychologically unstable. She was highly disfunctional and could not provide answers to even the simplest questions.

HP lost an incredible Assistant Principal because of Winter's harassment and may well lose more teachers this year. The board was completely inept in their handling of Winter. It is unsure what influence she had over them to allow her to remain as long as she did. She was removed from campus multiple times before her resignation.

Winter pitted students against each other and could never relate or connect with them. She even encouraged students to target for bullying another student whom she labeled as homosexual. Students hated her; the final time she addressed them (over the resignation of the beloved AP), they booed her. They started a petition to have her removed.

Her dogmatic and closed approach to the Christian faith left many uncomfortable and seeking alternative schools for their children. Her hiring practices were abominable, asking applicants about their private lives, particularly their sexual behavior, rather than their teaching ability and experience.

This woman is not a Christian; please do not make that mistake. She is a demon. Nor is she a good person in any respect. It is my fervent hope and prayer that all those she has harmed over the years will be healed and that she will never, ever be allowed near students or education again.
