They are guilty. It doesn't matter what the jury says. They did not need to beat this man.

Exactly. The police abused power. This kelly was not a threat. They could have subdued without beating like he was a vicious dog! These guys got away with murder. They still should never have police position again. No monetary compensation should be given to ones on trial. The jail time they got was appropriate at least.

I saw a comment on an article the other the day and it says a lot.
It read something like: A hero will risk their lives to save yours. A cop will risk your life to save theirs.
How is it a fully uniformed and geared up group of police officers are that scared of one unarmed man. A beating like that shows fear along with anger. If you are that scared to be police officer then don't do it. A true police officer is supposed to be disciplined and trained to react in professional manner. Are they training to beat senseless and to a pulp these days. I can hire a thug off the street to do the same job these so called professionals did.

There are other methods of apprehending people in this day and age. If I had a son with metal problems and severe drug problems who is homeless,I would do everything to have him committed to an institution. From what I read, the parents did not know his hereabouts. It does not matter even if he was adult. This country needs to do a lot more for mental illness where they don't end where Kelly did.
