The question is, what's wrong with Covina Unified School District?

They seem to have a management problem starting with the Principles and Vice Principles and managing discipline of their rowdy student's.

A serious investigation needs to be started since these conditions are endangering fellow students and teaching staff.

I don't feel as if the problem lies with the district. Society is changing and has created a culture of entitled youth. Many school policies have changed because parents have complained about the dumbest things. No longer do you see the days that top achieving students get rewarded, now every child does - just so that parents don't complain. What happened to the days where students receive the lower grade for not doing homework or completing assignment? Now days, parents fight the teacher if their child receives an infraction or a lower grade due to incomplete work. We need to let our children grow into mature adults who are responsible for their actions. Too many times have I heard, "If you have a problem with me not turning in can talk to my mom or dad, they told me to tell you I didn't have to do x assignment". Then the parents will tell you, "I told my child not to worry about completing x assignment, we had a busy evening/weekend". Are parents going to be calling their child's boss when they get out in the workforce to explain why deadlines weren't met?
In addition to this, many kids don't respect staff and faculty because they are not taught to even respect their own parents. Yes, it is a school's job to ensure the safety and academic growth of children but it starts at home. This change in society where children are so entitled needs to change and that starts by how they are raised.
I am sorry you feel this way towards CVUSD, but those changes need to start with parents not being so permitting of such irresponsible behaviors. The culture needs to change, let's work with the school, not against it- after all teachers, staff and administration are there to help children aspire to be their best.
