The only good thing about section 8 is the guarantee that you will get rent, but you have to trade that off by renting to scum and owning properties in the lousy types of neighborhoods they can afford to live in.<quoted text> I am investor, and have made much money in real estate in the past. Most people unable to buy now, so demand way up now for rentals. Also many more people now qualify for Section 8 program, which help landlord. Property go way up in value as soon as banks lend and economy start to really pick up!
It's almost like being a slum lord, but legal and for anyone who bought housing to rent out that way in the last 8 years, a real fiscal looser in the long run. I know section 8 landlords who are loosing money right now, and a few who dumped at a loss because the couldn't stand it.
