"Leaked photos accuse LAX of blocking emergency exits"

Photos, leaked or not, do not "accuse." They can be used to support an accusation, but photos by themselves? They're inanimate.

Didn't this employee have the duty to report unsafe workplace conditions in a timely manner? What was he waiting for?...to get a bigger story out and get money out of this situation?

LAX is old as hell, its probably old doors that no one uses anymore and new fire exits are available. i work at the airport and know there are doors no one uses and fire exit plans are up. sometimes people like to blow stuff out of proportion, and sometimes people are just constant complainers, shut the eff up already.

There is NOTHING posted that this was an emergency exit .
There are plenty of exit doors that are no longer used WHY? because some of them lead onto the tarmack.(where the planes are)
Thats why there is a sign posted to keep this door locked!
There are others that open out from old stair cases.
And just what is the deal that these photos are taken by someone with "firefighting experence"?
Obviously he's not a firefighter.
Yes of course

Not sure exactly what you mean by that, but I find it funny that it took you two tries to get it right. Somewhat metaphoric, I would say.

He's been reporting it for a year with no corrective action taken.

These doors were hardly blocked. Did anyone look at the photos on teh KNX website? The ladder mentioned above is leaning against a wall in a hallway leading to a door. Another photo shows a door blocked because there is work going on above the door, and it was blocked so people wouldn't get hurt. Who did this former firefighter (now TSA employee) report this too? This guy is just trying to stir the pot when there is nothing to stir.

Just demolish all of the terminals and make LAX an outdoor flea market -type of airport. Then those disgruntled TSA employees willl have to look elsewhere to find something to complain about. And complain, they will.

LAX IS STILL LOCKING DOORS WILFULLY!!!!!

Dear Erik,

What's the opposite of a lock out? A lock in.

On a daily basis any number of emergency exits and hallways may be locked at Los Angeles International Airport, according to tips from several celebrity photographers who work at LAX.

The airport's attempt to thwart photographers from taking pictures of celebrities is creating a dangerous situation for the flying public.

According to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Fire Marshalls and police laws, the airport is in blatant violation of safety codes by permitting airline employees to lock emergency exit doors on public property.

Furthermore, this is not the first instance LAX breaching fire safety codes. Back in 2010, an airport employee whistleblower exposed blocked emergency doors at the airport.

According to photos obtained by CBSNews, some exits were blocked by ladders, and in one case an emergency exit was padlocked. The station reported that the photos were obtained from an airport employee with firefighting experience.

LAX spokeswoman Nancy Castles thanked the news station for bringing the photos to her attention, and said, "I'll concede some of the photographs to me are bothersome."

"I have found American Airlines to be bullies that could care less about safety," said photographer Erik C. "I just feel that regardless of paparazzi, etc., these doors should remain unlocked at all times for public safety, and they should not bend the law."

The National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Life Safety Code 101 says that in general every person within the building must be able to exit all doors in their path to the outside without "the use of a key, a tool, or special knowledge or effort for operation from the egress side" (NFPA 101, 7.2.1.5.2).

FlyersRights feels a formal complaint must be filed with DOT.
