I wonder if the posters here know this woman. If not I also wonder who is more evil. Women just don't kill their children and generally don't "kill" their husband unless there was something terribly wrong. Either with them or their relationship.
Very sad in any case.

I remember the day this story came out. I've been following it ever since. I was traumatized by every detail. At the time, my son was 2. I couldn't fathom how this woman could SMOTHER not just one, but both of her children, as if the torture to the first one was not bad enough... And then to slice her husband 90-something times? Clearly, she is a disgusting and sick person. She absolutely, 100%, deserves the death penalty. There should be no discussion about it! This story still haunts me to this day and I was happy to read that she was found guilty. What a relief for his entire family. Unfortunately, that will never bring back her husband or her sweet, innocent sons.

What an idiotic comment, we don't have to know this bit--ch personally to know she is very evil for what she did. Obviously, you are some far out bleeding heart liberal.

I struggle to decide what is the most fair punnishment for this crime. If she is put to death, she will sit in a cell for probably months to years waiting for the state tax payers to pay the bill to kill her. If she gets life with no parole she still sits in the cells to "think about" her slain family members. Or maybe she will use the time to get an education or pick up and maybe kick an addiction, any time she spends sitting, waiting or educating herself are days the victims will never get to have.

Actually, women do. It's in the news every day. Look at Susan Smith and Casey Anthony. We will probably never understand it, because we just don't think that way. And why the quotation marks around "kill" when speaking of a husband? Slashing him through the heart while he was asleep and following after to stab and slash him 92 times while he begged her to stop isn't an attempt to "kill"?

Actually, Carla, I am Neal's mother and Devon's and Ian's Oma. I've been writing a blog about grief since the murders in an attempt to help both myself and others who are facing similar tragedies. Losing a child or grandchild is a hard thing to handle. Losing a loved one to murder can be even more difficult. The normal platitudes just don't help...it isn't a release from pain or a random accident.

I put brief summaries about the trial in my blog, because people who have been following my journey have an interest in the outcome. That isn't what I'm doing in court, though. It is so surreal and so much information is coming at us right and left, that I try to write down everything in detailed notes. I hope that when the shocks of the trial have passed I will be able to look at the details of what happened and understand it a little better.
