I know the sidewalks need to be fixed, but it's sad to see all those trees just cut down. I thought this was tree city USA?!? I wonder if they are going to replace the old trees with new ones once they fix the sidewalks...

The trees obviously were the reason the sidewalks were buckled. No fixing the sidewalks without removing the trees.

If you want to enjoy trees, go to regional park.
The park has more trees than you can imagine.

Just drove down Santa Gertrudes and crews are cutting down every tree on the west side of the street between Foster Road and Rosecrans.

Come on those trees NEVER should have been planted there in the first place. They have an agressive root system and need to be removed.

I heard those trees are haunted. That is the real reason they are cutting them down. The mayor knows it and so do I; think about it.

The city would be better off fixing the brick walls across the street from the trees they are removing.

Some day some kid is gonna lean on them and fall down the hill side.

They are dangerous as heck.

Those block walls on St. Gert are on private property. The City of LM needs to red tag them and have the owners replace them.

Really??? You really are good at spending other people's money. Do you know all those people and their individual situations or if they can even afford such a thing?? Besides genius, it may be on their property by there is this thing called an easement which makes it the city's wall....

The Retaining walls where but up by the contactor that built those houses and by the golf course they where put in by the City way back when they put in the sidewalks. I can remember when it was all dirt in the early 60's. If the walls fall down it is the home owners problem. If they can prove it is the fault of the tree ruts then it is the city's fault. If they are hit by a car then its the Drivers fault. The trees where a type of ficus that have high roots and should only be planted in a big pots. They needed to come down and it will all look great with new sidewalks and new young trees.
