It's about time!!! This woman has a serious power trip and is anti small business. Splash??? You mean DRIP?? Serious waste of space and not wanted by any resident I've talked to. Andrea Travis has done nothing but undermine every employee in the city as well as held the reigns on City Council. Just check to see how many people have resigned because of her. Those old people finally had the balls to stand up to her. FINALLY!! Now maybe we can actually attract small businesses, retail shops and a social place to congregate instead of being embarrassed at every bordered up commercial area in the city. LET'S FINALLY MOVE FORWARD and get this city's retail areas up to par with La Habra, Brea, and even NORWALK!!

You think the retail situation will change? Please, it's been like that long before Andrea ever arrived.

Let's hope the City Council hires a new City Manager with Redevelopment expertise and positive management skills.
Thank God

Well, it finally only took them seven years to do it and a tremendous amout of employee turnover. What a shame to have lost so many good employees, but at least the Council finally saw the light! IT IS A HAPPY DAY FOR LA MIRADA! I AM SURE THERE IS MUCH CELEBRATION!

Okay, I don't know this person . . . but I will tell you that many, many people think Splash is a great thing. Keeping our youth occupied with athletic opportunities is far superior to spending the money on fighting crime.
Not better

how about if fighting crime is lessened to pay for a $30 million project that was budgeted for at $12 million? Splash may be great, but you need to know the cuts in all areas, including police as a result of overspending on the project.

You think Splash is a great thing because you don't live in La Mirada.

Plain and simple, this place is filled with little cry baby ex-employees who could not hang. If the evil "tyrant" is gone, why stay anonymous? Nobody can hurt you now.

Do not speak for everyone. You cannot possibly do that.

Oh Andrea ...

Doing what you do best ... lying to the very end....

"I want to step back and consider the things I've accomplished" ... like driving away good employees? Like using your "power" to send other people to do your dirty work?

"We've completed Splash" ... yes, overdue, over budget, and unwanted.

"I think it's time for me to look at other things" .... there's the door, go right ahead, we don't need to wait until September for you to leave.

I hope that when you drive on the main streets ...and have to stop because every additional light is red and have to wait for the left turn light to turn green because apparently we are all incapable of making a left turn without the assistance of a turn light .... I hope you see all the blight, unsightly "retail" areas and realize that you too will have to leave to city to eat, shop and congregate. Since you can't show your face around here.

See ya!!!

I speak for the ones that have told me they never wanted that pool ...which by way, when residents were poled, 65% were not in favor of a pool, but it was done anyway.

To insinuate that I was speaking for everyone would be impossible.

LM wishes it had what Pico Rivera has.

A Home Depot, and Lowe's, Wal-Mart and Target,
A BRAND NEW 12 Screen Kirkorian Theater.
and Plaza around it.

Two new shopping malls. A Chili's.

As far as commercial, La Mirada should be so lucky.

Let's hope the new city manager and when the times come, a new city council,(hopefully), will be able to really see what the people want.
