For a billion dollars, Disney is trying to convince people to predict their vacation preferences weeks, if not months, in advance.
Expanding parks and creating interesting and fun attractions are the types of things that will alleviate crowding issues and will also turn a quick profit. Walt knew this from the start. The work done at California Adventure confirms the hypothesis. Technologies come and go. I suspect that most people want at least a semblance of spontaneity in their vacations.
A billion dollars plus for a technology that will quickly need updating, has no real proof of profit, and detracts from a vacationer's spontaneity, is indicative of a shortsighted management.
