LMHS Boys lost by a score of. 0-0 (PK 4-2)
I knew their defense was strong enough to compete but their offense was just not there.

Too bad they did their best with what they had.
Now LM hopes are all with the Girls, go Mats

Don't show your soccer ignorance by saying just because a team has only club players they should win.
There are hundreds of players who's families don't have the money or live in areas that only have ethnic leagues that are great players who can compete at any level

A good coach wins with what he gets.
Artesia and Norwalk are good teams this year. At this level winning is about heart and desire. All teams have the skill and knowldge to win. Being a club player doesn't mean squat now.
Except to the media

It depends on what level club. there are 5 levels of club plus ODP, bronze and silver are no big thing. How many players for Beverly Hills play club, and what level? How many LMHS boys play club?
The crap about coaches win with what they have is crap, you can't win unless you have talent just look at the NFL are 31 teams bad cecauxse they didn't win the super bowl and was MM the best coach in the NFL

Talk about cr#p. First we are talking about high school ok.
La Mirada Boys made it to the finals last year with just a bunch of Bronze and a few Silver/Gold players.
No ODP, no premier. And don't forget several LMSA players as well.
They had heart, desire and thanks to their coach they believed in themselves.
They beat teams that on paper should have
easily beaten LM.
Soccer is a funny game, sometimes the best team on paper doesn't win.
But a good team that believes in itself can go far

you sound like you need to spend a ton of money to guarantee success, well if that was the case then why is the nfl NOT World Wide? since you appear to put a price on Club = performance,. you really should get out of the overpriced clubs & more into real training that begins from Parents that share their knowledge 1st before they take the next steps. also, guest players are asked to assist a Team for free until they make the choice Not based on price rather potential for growth & then cost come along

First off you all were talking about club not me.
NFL is an amercian sport, the point was about coaches, several great players have played in rec programs. You brought up the club thing and last year was last year, because the coach didn't go futher this yr then last does that make him a bad coach, like soccer lover said NO.
What are you talking about guest players, you have no idea what you are talking about, players are asked to tryout for the team or fill spots because someone is missing.

LM Girls Varsity loses in the 2nd round.
More disappointing than the boys if you ask me. The boys were not expected to go far as a 3rd place team. The girls were favorites to go deep.

Really disappointed to hear that.
I was looking forward to seeing them in the next round.
Well they can enjoy those sweatshirts that they have that say "undefeated season".

Those girls will have a really tough time breaking into a line up that is returning just about all its starters.
This is a team that only lost to 2 teams all last season and those teams each won CIF championships.

I am sure they will push the Varsity girls but only the one or two truly exceptional 14 year olds
will break into this Starting lineup.
High school soccer is a whole different animal compared to higher level club.

Still things look good for LMHS Girls Soccer

From what I've been told the girls program is going to be strong for the next several years. Just looking at what I've seen coaching benton and local LMSA girls lots of talent and I don't even know about the other middle schools feeding LMHS that play outside of LMSA
I bet that there will be at least 3 new freshman on varsity this year one may even break into the starting line up

If the freshman talent coming in, that I have heard from some of the LM Dads, is true, then I would agree with Davis on this one.

But that, to anyone who knows soccer, is a gimme. Any halfway intelligent coach would put about 2 and maybe even 3, if the talent is really there, freshmen on the team just to plan for the future.

They won't get a hell of a lot of playing time come league, but they will get touches.

The rest he will keep in JV of Frosh/Soph so they can get the touches and be ready for the future.

Hopefully LM won't get a bunch of crybaby Freshmen dad's who get so mad that their little 14 year old is not on the starting Varsity lineup that they transfer to another school.
But then, on second thought, maybe it would be a good thing to see them go.

Don't think any LMSA (Davis') girls will make varsity. Too much outside real talent coming in.

2 of the coach's U19 team will make it for sure.
They started Varsity last year. Maybe one other.

What will be interesting is if those U19 girls who's Dad's were kissing up to the coach all season will make the team.

I would not be surprised, I have seen that type of brown-nosing work many times before.

Got it, great to see that the hard work of the past 3+ years has paid off with all of "Prides" freshman making the JV team and the return soph also.

All the girls of Pride are playing JV or Varsity at 4 dif high schools, we represent the girls of La Mirada
