Some under the table cash-money to the appropriate folks would keep the contract intact. That is what these people are waiting for!!!

It didn't take long for the new school teacher to be bought. I hear Barbara has been wined and dined like Queen Elizabeth by Cal Met. I hope she's reporting these meals. I heard a complaint to the DA is on the way.

Too bad, it's the community that suffers when options are not explored. Personally speaking, if trash conversion technologies are not explored and at least considered, then think of what we'll be paying when he Puente Hills Landfill closes and trash is transported by rail to the desert.

If Cal Met has been nesting on over thirty years of Pico Rivera cash as a result of their contract, why haven't they been exploring conversion possibilities? Time to get out of the way Cal Met and let the new world sit at the table.

Cal Met has no one but themselves to blame for this contract going out to bid and dumping truck loads of frozen turkeys on Virginia Aguirre's doorstep isn't going to stop responsible city council members from doing the right thing for the city.

Too bad Mayor Salcido is such a joke and a total hypocrite. Let's hope that clown finally gets fired from the school district for his grossly immature and inappropriate behavior so he doesn't have all those kids voting for him because of his easy "A"'s. Pico Rivera is such a joke.

Just saw a delivery truck pull up to Armenta's house with big screen tv's and a hot tub...you gotta give it to the guy, why work when the chumps in Pico Rivera keep putting him back in office?

Free travel, city paid golf, Dal Rae nightly, gifts up the ying yang. Ignorance is bliss I say.

Cal Met has given Pico Rivera thousands of dollars in tax revenue, by purchasing all trucks from Pico Rivera, thats millions,Uniforms from Centa, here in Pico Rivera, Gasoline purchased here in Pico Rivera, lets remember that, Cal Met is very generous to this community he is just like another business man that I remember, that was on the council our former Mayor Ron Beilke.

Mr. Beilke is indeed one of the most generous businessmen in the community. I've never heard of Calmet giving abything to the schools or churches considering the millions and millions they make off Pico Rivera.

Who ever is given the city trash contract, I think they should be forced to do business in the city like for gas and vehicle purchases.

Is it true that Downey residents pay about half the cost for their trash service from Calmet than we pay here in Pico Rivera for the same service? If so, was it the previous (before Beilke) administration that cooked up that deal? I hope so called Mayor Salcido has an answer for that question.

I hate Pico Rivera, I live in this city and what's worst I live in the ghetto side by durfee/Whittier. No one does anything to this side of town, it looks like south central around here. The city needs to invest some of that cash in rehabilitating this part of the city. It's not like we don't pay taxes like everyone else. Fix our streets now!
