Hey Lozano Monica and Marlen The Los Angles City Council on Tuesday declined to overturn a Police Commission decision to end the contract for the red-light camera program.
The city's red light camera program will end as of July 31, and at least one city councilman is advising motorists to ignore tickets they get between now and then.
The City Council declined Tuesday to overturn a Police Commission decision to end the contract for the program. But the council could not decide what to do with the cameras, or tickets issued because of them, over the next six weeks.
Councilman Dennis Zine, a former LAPD motorcycle officer, said he would ignore the tickets.
"There is no requirement that people pay the tickets," Zine said. "It's like shooting an unloaded gun. Nothing will happen. No one will be hurt. This won't go on your driver's record or affect your insurance. If someone wants to pay, I'd rather they just give money to the city."
LAPD officials said they would not encourage people to violate the law, but acknowledged there was no penalty for those who refuse to pay.

Hey Lozano Don't you think its about time to get rid of your camera's that are costing the city money.

After all you boycotted Arizona but you continue to send Baldwin Park Funds to a company in Arizona.

Councilman Dennis Zine, a former LAPD motorcycle officer, said he would ignore the tickets.

Well I think Baldwin Park Citizens should ignore the tickets to. I think Baldwin Park citizens should put their hard earn't money to better use than sending it off to Arizona. Put your money to better use. save it for Christmas.

Spend your money in Baldwin Park Don't let Lozano Monica and Marlen pick your pockets.

Los Angles Police commission said that the red light camera's do not save lives or prevent accidents. It is just a public rip off.

Lozano Monica and Marlen You are nothing but GREEDY GOUGERS.( I read that in the Tribune ) And you are picking the Public's pockets ( I read that in the Tribune also ) Stop financially impacting this community.

We are experiencing the worst recession since the Twenties. Your 1290 caused Baldwin Park to have the highest unemployment rate in the United.

Stop picking the Public's pockets. Focus all your efforts and resource's on the gang problems How many more shootings

How much more Blood on city streets.

attention Baldwin Park Citizens

If you happen to trigger one of these Red Light camera's Just ignore the ticket because there is No penalty, No requirement to pay the ticket, Nothing will happen, It won't go on your driver's record, It wont affect your insurance.

Just do what thousands of City, State and Government workers and any one else who knows this type of enforcement is unconstitutional. Just ignore the ticket. When you are accused of a infraction like getting a ticket you have a constitutional right to confront the accusing person. Well a camera is not a person that you can confront. Additionally when you receive a ticket . You are required to sign it. And in doing so You have promised to appear. Well with a camera ticket You did not promise to appear and you don't have to. This is one of those secrets that City, state and government workers know and have kept a secrete from the general public. It is a rip off and when you pay, Most of your money goes to the boycotted state of Arizona. The Baldwin Park Jackasses that run this city knows this and continues to steal your hard earn't money. It is unconstitutional yet Lozano Monica and Marlen doesn't care They just want your money. The Tribune is right Baldwin Park Officials are a bunch of GREEDY GOUGERS. We need to vote these Greedy Gougers out of office at the next election.

I recently received a red light traffic ticket for Feb 2012. I was wondering if there were any new legislation dealing with this dilemma of paying the ticket or not. Any help is appreciated.

Red light cameras get red light in California
Posted 02/23/2012 by Chris Hinyub, in California, Infrastructure, Policy Reform, Safety

A recent appellate court decision in Southern California delivered a huge blow to proponents of red light cameras. For years both sides have argued their points in the Capitol, debating whether or not the cameras, used to issue traffic citations, make cities and counties safer. Opponents have also questioned the legality of local governments writing tickets based solely on the photographic evidence provided by private firms who monitor the traffic enforcement systems. This latter question has now been answered in the form of a published legal decision.

Two years ago, critics convinced the Legislature to approve a bill that would have reduced hefty fines for rolling stops while making right-hand turns at monitored intersections. Staunch opposition from lobbyists for local governments carried the day, however, as then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed the measure saying that lower fines sent the wrong message to would-be violators.

Now, the 2nd District Court of Appeal has reversed (essentially) the Governator’s nullification by adding to a growing body of case law that invalidates evidence submitted to traffic courts by anyone other than a public employee who is a “custodian of record”. In other words, and in the context of this case, because law enforcement officer Mike Butkus did not actually witness Annette Borzakian run a red light, and instead relied on photographs and analysis provided by a private third-party who maintains and monitors the cameras, the $425 ticket he issued in the matter was based on hearsay and declared to be inadmissible.

The same conclusion was reached by courts in Kern and Orange Counties in Dec. of 2009 and May of 2010 respectively. Superior Court judges in those jurisdictions ruled that tickets issued through RedFlex Traffic System are to be thrown out based on insufficient evidence and the inability of the accused to confront their accuser. Redflex, an Arizona-based red light camera company, is the same firm whose employees caught Borzakian’s alleged traffic infraction on tape.

In the Orange County case, presiding Judge Gregg Prickett clarified his decision by saying:

“No one with personal knowledge testified about how often the system is maintained. No one with personal knowledge testified about how often the date and time [of photographic evidence] are verified or corrected.”

The latest appellate decision is a bitter pill for the town of Victorville, whose leadership contracted with RedFlex to maintain 10 cameras until 2015. Opting out of that contract is expected to cost the city hundreds of thousands of dollars. Both RedFlex and the town itself have been named as defendants in a class action lawsuit that alleges red light cameras in Victorville violate the law by allowing officers who did not actually witness an infraction to issue a ticket for it.

Sadly I must tell you that our shitty citty idiots ignore our constitutional right to due process. We as citizens have the absolute right to confront our accusers. And a camera can not be confronted or Questioned. If a police officer doesn't witness you running a red light. Then the ticket is invalid.

Additionally You received your ticket in the mail. And I am sure you did not sign it in that little box where you promise to appear. You don't even have to go to court.

A traffic ticket is an arrest, and if you don't sign the ticket and promise to appear, you could be arrested right on the spot. By signing the ticket, You are released on your own promise to appear.

Personally I will never pay a red light ticket But I am prepared to fight for our rights.

Its your call. Be a wimp and pay them Or stand up for your rights.

Our Shittty Cittty leaders are just picking our pockets to pay for their pay checks, Pensions and perks.

This is ONE TIME I wish you were right bonehead. But the fact is if you get a ticket and you DON'T pay it - it goes to collection. The DMV puts a hold on your license. And can't renew your license. How do I know? What do you think? Those are the facts Jack.

It is all public records. Go to City Hall and make a written and recorded public request. Get a copy of your request after you get the city to date stamp it. Make sure you are very specific because these idiots will with hold information.

We have idiots running Baldwin Park. And they pick our pockets any way they can.

These camera's have already been determined as illegal, ineffective and not reliable. They make alot of money for out of state business.

These idiots who run Baldwin Park take your hard earnt money right out of your pocket and sends it express to Arizona.

They don't realize or understand that that money is taken out of the local economy. Money that you would have bought goods and services right here in Paldwin Park.

The funny part is these idiots passed a resolution to boycott Arizona.

These idiots names are.

Lozano the turd bugular
Monica the monkey
Marlen the prozac queen.

Wish there was a happy ending to this one. Other than that those threats are highly unlikely, you can't go back to court on it and will not be able to renew your license until you pay it off. I suggest you start paying a few dollars a month showing effort and than talk to the jackals (collections) about a break on it. They will lower it some. Good luck.

Corona just suspended their red light cameras.

Corona Councilman Steve Nolan, who spearheaded the effort to shut down five cameras installed at four intersections in the city, said he believes the tickets should be dismissed in the interest of justice. He called the camera violation system flawed and unfair, and advised Yates to delay the process.

“My advice to him is extend, extend, extend,” Nolan said.“They don’t know what to do. Should they ignore it? Should they follow through with it? If it was me… I would string it out as long as I can.”

He added that the program is being dismantled partly so that officers can go back to patrolling the streets.

“The system is going down,” he said.“Why cause anymore pain? What could be gained? We’re not making money on the system anyway.”

The program costs the city about $30,000 a month.

Baldwin Park doesn't make any money on their cameras either. It is really stupid to impact the citizens like this. They take your hard earnt money out of the local struggling economy and sends it to Arizona.

Listen up we need to vote every one of these bastards out of office.
