It was not ended peacefully. This incident appears to me to be an over-use of force. The house had all its windows broken and was filled with tear gas -- at great expense of the owner. To the tax payers it involved over a dozen police cars, a swat team and an emergency response team complete with a robot -- for 10 hours! Too much expense for an incident that no more than 3 well trained and armored police officers could have handled in an hour. The guy was armed only with a knife. He was mentally ill and scared.

I generally support the police but think this incident's handling needs a hard-nosed investigation.

But it makes them feel important and powerful. You know even if there is an investigation nothing significant will come of it. But I hear you.

AS USUAL THE POLICE FEEL THE NEED TO PUFF THEMSELVES UP; I AGREE WITH THIS QUOTE THAT THE POLICE USUALLY ABUSE THEIR POWER BECAUSE THEY CAN! sOMEON E ONLY HOLDING A KNIFE COULD HAVE BEEN SUBDUED BY OTHER MEANS, I CAN'T BELIEVE THE POLICE DEPT. DOESN'T HAVE ANY OTHER AVENUES TO FOLLOW IN MATTERS SUCH AS THESE DESTRUCTIVE MEANS....LOOKS LIKE THE DEPT. NEEDS SOME OVER HAUL OF THEIR OFFICERS. IT CERTAINLY DIDN'T REQUIRE THE AMOUNT OF FORCE USED....GOD FORBID SHOULD SOMETHING SERIOUS HAPPEN! IDIOTS..........
