This is so good for the area on the lakeside. I live in Rothbury and just hope and pray that no one gets out of hand during this time.

I think it is incredibly irresponsible for the Double JJ to bring 40,000 people to this community. Our roads and emergency personnel are not equipped to handle that many people. Mr. Lipsitz is not concerned with the impact on Oceana County, only in padding his bank account.

WZZM is very tied into this group via advertising dollars. Everyone should make sure that they get what is advertised.

This could take a bite out of Muskegon Summer Celebration, I also think that the ticket prices are way too high.

THIS EVENT IS BEING PUT ON MY GRANT TOWNSHIP, WHICH WAS PASSED AT THE TOWN MEETING LAST NIGHT,ONLY AFTER ALOT OF THOUGHT AND PLANNING WENT INTO THIS. THE POLICE WHERE IN VITED TO ATTEND THE MEETING AND VOICED THAT THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE THIS LARGE CROWD. JUST AS ANUOTHER TOWN THEY ADD ON ADDED PROTECTION IN SUCH AN EVENT. ALSO GRANT WILL BE GETTING PART OF THE MONEY TO HELP WITH ROAD REPAIRS. THAT IS REALY WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT. GRANT IS TRING TO COME UP WITH A WAY TO HELP WITH MONEY TO REPAIR THE ROADS INSTEAD OF JUST SITTING BACK AND COMPLAINING. PLEASE KNOW ALL THE FACTS.

Nor SHOULD he be concerned with the impact on local roads and such, it is the responsibilty of your elected leaders to make sure they have the infrastructure in place to handle a buisness that THEY approved. Typical not in my backyard mentality. Kudos to anyone looking to bring buisness/customers into our area.

I don't know where the 40,000 people number came from but that's an incredible figure.

from the website, the ticket prices start at $245 and go way up from there if you want to add on place to sleep or better access, or whatever.$245 * 40,000 = 9.8 million. that's absolute minimum. But as far as the roads are concerned -- there is a 3 dollar fee added to the ticket price per person - that's only 120,000 bucks to the road improvement fund -- there may be that much damage with 40,000 people :)

Why are they planning this during Summer Celebration? I hope it works for them, but with the price of the tickets, who can afford that when there are so many people out of work. There is no way I would pay that amount of money for a ticket. I'll stick with Summer Celebration!! It's in my price range.

I don't think they should do this. It seems like an overpriced version of Muskegon Summer Celebration.

How on earth did they get these big names to agree to come to a rinky dink little town? I am really excited to see DMB and Snoop- I for one WILL be there!!

Curious to see how this affects the Summer Celebration- hopefully the "competition" will help breathe new life into something that's been on the stale side in the last few years.

The Muskegon Summer Celebration feels threatened by everyone. They need to look at themselves and check their egos at the door. They always have to meet with other festival planners and voice their concerns. 600,000 people attend the Muskegon Summer Celebraton, we don't complain about Rothbury residents tearing up our roads. All are welcome.
