Do yourself a favor and get your butt in school. Gangs are just for little puppets. You all get played by those at the top like little biotches. Losers.

My comments on this forum today are going to be deliberate & my reason and point will become apparent.
Having read comments on the two initial threads pertaining to this story re Jacob Guiterrez, I was rather disgusted by so many of the insensitive and callous comments.
I DO NOT condone "gang banger" lifestyle & work in opposition to it by working with at risk youth. People even attempted the same in the case of the 18 yr old from Berino.
With that said, I am highly bothered by the number of people who make so many erroneous assumptions pertaining to this family. Some even suggest that the kid followed in his "Daddy's footsteps".
The reason all the vicious rumors & erroneous assumptions bother me so very much is that on this day 09APR1997, I experienced the same barrage of rumor & erroneous assumptions because that is the day my 18 yr old son died. People instantaneously speculated that he died from a drug overdose or from a gang related incident. These were speculations that were completely unfounded and without merit. My son was an honors student with a 4.0 GPA who graduated early, on his way to become a chemical engineer, and had never been involved in any gang. What killed him was common among athletes who've collapsed on the basketball court and not detected until an autopsy--CARDIOMYOPATHY. Not gangs, not shootings. Yet during this difficult time for me and my family, we were subjected to all this garbage from many cold hearted people in LC. Believe me this is not something any grieving parent wants to be subjected.
I realize that there are conflicting stories, and that the victims brother adds to this family's pain. All I'm asking is that some of you have a tad more compassion and empathy in your comments, and for goodness sakes, please quit with all the assumptions.
I remember that day... and your Son is still missed to this day...

Put bounties on all of these little gang bangers. This is such a shithole town. This problem with little gangsters and little drug dealers and money launderers is rampant in this place. Just look around you. Have you ever seen so many little crap businesses that don't really make money? Look at your neighbors, do lots of cars come and go? If they do, it's a little drug store. The cops know about all of these clowns, but they are waiting for the big fish. Guess what, they never catch the big fish 'cause they are not really looking. These families that lose their kids to gang violence, if they can't keep these kids away from this crap, it is their own fault. I walk around this place and I see no respect from these little shitheads. Even though it may be wrong, control what your kids see, who they hang out with, how they dress and how they talk. In today's world, discipline merits the 1800CHILDabuse hotline. Well, keep this up and we will continue burying kids and putting them in jail or drug rehab.

I don't care for these little gangbangers at all. They need to be taken care of. In a town as small as las cruces, you'd think this would be easy to take care of. We have 1 cop for every 3 people in this town. Why are the cops not taking care of this little problem? The cops in this town know exactly where the little gangsters hang out. They know where all the drug dealng takes place. They know which businesses are money laundering sites. They know exactly which motels are prostitution houses. Why is it so complicated to take care of these things? I have a recommendation, stop giving traffic tickets and take care of serious crime in the city. It's always easy to go after the low hanging fruit, but come on guys, you are paid to take care of this crap.

Parents, if your kids are anywhere near the gangbanging scene, talk to them and if you can't get them away from this, an asskicking or 3 are necessary.

You can either disicpline them while they are alive or mourn them when they are dead.
