Rep. Ron Sailor arrested on bad check charge

State Rep. Ron Sailor Jr. has been arrested on a felony fraud charge, accused of writing a bad check for $1,111 to pay utilities on a house in Gwinnett County. via Columbus Ledger-Enquirer

Working for a long time in retail, I know no one goes directly to jail for writing a bad check. The company is not worried about you going to jail, they just want their money. So I am sure he had many chances to make good on that check. Probably could have even sent in payments. It may not keep utilities on but would avoid jail. They only send you to jail when it becomes clear that you aren't gonna pay.

I can't afford a glass house, and I can't live NEARLY as large as Sailor, but it's nice to see a fraud get what's coming. Is it Rep Sailor or Rev Sailor? It could have been a simple screw up as for a bad check to be a felony , it has to be over a certain amount. So he could have written the check for $1000 and only had $999.00 in the account but still makes him the "Village idiot
