GA Car Mart is a RIPOFF!!!

I'm in shock by what I am readng simply because I was going to get a car from GA Best Car Deals in Marietta. I was hoping that I didnt see their name listed as one of the crooks, but low and behold they were. Several times at that. How disappointing is that? Or Not, because I probably would have had a helluva lot of problems 3 months later. I test drove a honda coupe and I told my husband something is not right with the way this car is driving. He told me I was just scared/nervous because of such a big purchase. But, I know what I felt and something just wasnt right with that car.

For any dealership that reads this board, I dont understand how you could sleep at night; by giving someone a car you know have frame damage that could put the next owner in danger. Sure, you got to make a living, but there is other ways to get money. You crooked dealerships are just as bad as the girl the killed that family + 1 and tried to cover her tracks by repairing the car. How could you sleep at night knowing you're the real killer? That's a got damn shame...really.

I recently purchased a car from GA Best Motors and, unfortunately, only recently came across this thread as well as some other reports of shady practices.

Although the car had a clean carfax, I didn't use Autocheck prior to purchasing. I just now ran an Autocheck and it came back clean also. Should I continue to be concerned or am I in the clear?

Can I take it to a dealer and have them inspect it? If so, how much does that typically cost? Thanks.

You can take the car to the respective dealership and have them check it thoroughly. Also ask them to provide you with a printout or email of the service history of the vehicle if it has ever been serviced at a dealership. I had this done at Lexus and it cost $120. Also had it done at Firestone which cost $20. The only difference is Firestone does not test drive the vehicle. Ensure that whomever does the check provides you with a written assessment.

Is Marietta Auto Mall on Roswell Rd. in Marietta involved in these deceptive practices? I've run a number of Autocheck reports against the clean Carfax reports and have come up with 2 out of the 5 having Frame Damage.

Should I not shop at this car dealer at all or just do the "buyer beware" strategy?

I would like to thank everyone for posting their comments. I was seriously thinking about purchasing a car from this dealer, but I have changed my mind. I felt doubt from the start and just didn't feel good about it, although the deal was wonderful, but i live too far away to be scam (5hours).
But that just proves my theory, everything is not always what it seems!
I will continue to do my homework!
Thanks!

All of the people that I met who work at Alpha Carz are shady. I read the post and websites about them and I thought mabey it was other dealers posting this info until I found out that CBS did an under cover investigation of them! Check it out:
http://www.cbsatlanta.com/news/19384540/detai...
Then I pulled up Auto Check reports and checked many of the cars they advertised. Guess what, many of the cars had frame damage but a clean Carfax report. They are still pulling the same scam!
They are not the only dealer doing this. I also found IQ Autos in Marietta is doing the same thing. Do your research and pull Carfax and Auto Check and have the car inspected b/c not all accidents get reported.
They also say they will buy a car at the auction for you and only charge you $500. This is bogus. They said they could not get an M45 for me for less than $26k at the auction b/c there is such a high demand for these cars. Then a couple weeks later they have an M45 on the lot for $22k?!! Basically, they will somehow lie or doctor the price they say they paid at the auction and then charge you alot more than they paid.
I wondered why these small dealers keep changing their name and now I know!
Bottom line, I actually got a better deal at Roswell Infiniti on my M45. They thoroughly refurbished the car, helped me get financing, and preformed all warranty work.

We began looking at luxury SUV's back in April. We were in the market for a Lexus RX330 and our search led us to Alpha Carz due to their low prices when compared to major dealerships. We initially dealt with Shum and Jon (their finance guru). We did not feel good about the vehicle and eventually became suspicious. When we requested a carfax report, we were told their systems were down. They gave us the same excuse when we asked for hard copies of the sales contract to review the numbers. Alpha Carz is also known for having the worst customer service. Our salesperson who was Zack never returned phone calls unless we called him multiple times and we were given multiple excuses every time we called.
The straw that broke the camels back was when we decided to give them another try on another Lexus RX 330 and they tried to sell us the SUV with bad tires, broken antenna, a damaged console, broken tail light and the list goes on. Interestingly the vehicle was advertised on their website as “Reduced Price” but the photos of the vehicle were taken so as to camouflage these flaws. When we asked them to fix the issues as part of the deal, they refused to do so initially. They eventually fixed some of the issues and pretty much passed the repair costs unto us as part of an administrative fee but claimed it was a bank fee. Apparently, the vehicle had been sold once before and returned. The reason for return did not add up! We decided to call another dealership to check on another vehicle when the salesman cautioned us about dealing with Alpha Cars as they are presently under investigation. They are known for switching numbers at the last minute and passing on administrative bank fees that most dealers absorb. Please do your homework and take your business elsewhere if you are desperately looking for a vehicle. Alpha Cars loves to prey on the desperate. More importantly, be sure to get an Auto check and Car fax report and if possible an independent dealer inspection.

I know who this "Buyer Beware" is, she came in with a credit score of 500. We got her approved for a loan. She came to us like 10 different times trying to buy that Lexus. The bank that approved her wanted a large downpayment and a finance charge. This DIM-WITT didn't even know that she can't even afford a Lexus and she wanted us to discount it so that she can get it. We refused. Eventually we sold that vehicle to someone else, she gets pissed off, gets on the internet and start badmouthing us. I am going to take out a court order for SLANDER, track down her IP address and stick her with a SLANDER lawsuit so BIG that she will have to declare a second bankruptcy. The FACT is that some we sell cars to hundreds of people every month. There are some 90 replies on this forum. Out of these 90, there are probably 20 genuine complaints, which we will gladly address if they come to us. However, morons like this person above, who have no idea about their own finances, and want to blame their failures on us, and are upset that we don't want to discount the vehicle for them, it is inexcusable and SLANDEROUS. I hope potential buyers read this and pay some heed to this as well. ALSO, if someone wants some good references, we have THOUNSANDS of satisfied customers. Remember, this forum doesn't show anyone but some haters and people with evil intent for our business.

This is a follow up to my previous post. For farts and giggles I called Atlanta UC to speak with the sales person that sold me my car in February. The lady skirted around my request but when I pushed it she told me he was no longer there. Mind you, this guy has been selling cars there for three years. I then asked what happened to all their luxury vehicles. She told me they were moved to the other location in Alpharetta Atlanta Auto Lease. So don't be fooled they are affiliated and run quite an operation.

I am going to post some shit over here that will make some of you dimwitts reading this a little perturbed. It may even forced you to buy some expensive used vehicles from your local area dealerships and get scrwed by them. So instead of potentially saving some money in the process of looking for a PERFECT USED CAR - which doesn't exist - you can potentially get screwed by a Franchise Lexus or a Honda or an Infiniti dealership under the false pretense i.e., BIG STORE = HONEST STORE.

Bottom line is, you will always complain, either you buy a used car from a discounted store or you buy a used car from a full price store. The dealer is going to make money off of you anyway. That is their job silly people. Don't you get it. Besides, it is a freakin car, it is made up of METAL and IRON and PLASTIC. It doesn't go bad that easily, even if it had an accident in the past. BTW, the 90% of the vehicles plying on the roads have had some sort of accident history, reported or not, but they have had. It doesn't make it a bad car.

Good Luck.
Remember, don't pay no heed to every moron on this forum, including myself. People have wierd agendas and they are NOT always giving you a useful advice.

BTW, I don't work for any of the dealership, however, I work in one of the garages that work on all the area dealerships including the dealerships in question.

To me, all vehicles are the same and all dealers are the same. Noone better than the others.

PRICE WINS AT THE END OF THE DAY.

My final comment on this foolishness is that this dealership was in fact featured on CBS for doing a cut and paste job on Carfax reports. Here's the link for all those interested in reviewing the report. http://www.cbsatlanta.com/news/19384540/detai...
Be sure to read the followup response as well.

With that in mind, anyone interested in purchasing a car from this dealer and others like them, do yourself a favor and run an autocheck and carfax report. Who is this raving lunatic anyway referring to potential customers as morons? Or maybe they just view all potential customers as morons or for lack of a better word "a sucker"? Could this be a professional sales person that deals with the public? I will not respond to such nonsensical comments. The bottom is that I have since purchased a fully loaded Lexus with even more options and with Lexus Financing for a really good price. Remember, if something sounds to good to be true, you better do your research.

Hello guys, I always keep up with this dealership, because of the great prices so I decided to do some research on google so I was just looking and analyzing everything on this forum. My conclusion about all this is that every prospect that is purchasing a car should do their due diligence and do their research. But as far as this Buyers Beware goes, I used to work with franchise dealership (dont want to mention name) as a title clerk, and I heard about all the different cases of how these finance guys "screwed the customers good" so I looked more into it and I found out that instead of giving us consumers 5% apr on car loans the dealers give us 7% where that 2% goes into the profit. So therefore I finance my cars with my own credit union. So Buyers Beware I think they did this to you, On another point, I want to educate everyone on UNIBODY AND FRAME DAMAGE, UNIBODY MEANS ONE PANEL IS DAMAGED FRAME DAMAGE DOESNT NECESSARILY MEAN FRAME DAMAGE, FRAME DAMAGE ALL IS UPON THE DISCRESSION OF THE INSPECTOR AT THE AUCTION, SO IF A ROCKER PANEL IS DAMAGED THAT CAN BE EASILY CONSIDERED FRAME DAMAGE, BUT THAT IS NO WHERE CLOSE TO THE FRAME, AND ON THAT POINT, I HAVE DRIVEN A FRAME DAMAGE CAR AND IT DOESNT DRIVE ANY DIFFERENT THAN A NON FRAME DAMAGE SO THEREFORE DONT THINK THAT THE CAR HAS A PROBLEM. AND IF A CAR HAD A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE FRAME THE TITLE WILL BE SALVAGED, AND BY STATE LAW A BANK IS NOT ALLOWED TO FINANCE A CAR WITH A SALVAGED TITLE. SO NOW JUST USE YOUR COMMEN SENSE AND GET THE CAR CHECKED OUT. but the moral of this whole discussion is that DO YOUR REASEARCH! IT DOESNT MATTER IF ITS A SMALL DEALERSHIP OR A BIG DEALERSHIP AND DONT BELIEVE ALL THE MECHANICS BECAUSE THAT IS A PROFESSION THAT IS THE BIGGEST SCAM!

This person works at a local law firm and has lots of character flaw :) We ran the credit for this person and found out that there is NOT a single account that is NOT defaulted and so much money stolen from Creditors. They have had REPOS as well as BANKRUPTCIES. They go to dealerships and try to find excuses to get into legal troubles and sue businesses with cooked up BS frugal lawsuits... Classic example of a con-artists trying to rip businesses off ... all the information on this person shows one of the worst track record. Anyone has any concerns about the business, please contact the dealer directly instead of paying attention to incoherent rants of this person, who can't get approved to buy a car and wants to blame dealer. This person has gone from dealer to dealer, GA Best Cars, Atlanta Auto Lease, Brands 1 auto, Georgia Import Auto, every single dealer has this person's name and credit application and they want to politely show her the door the moment they see her coming through. She is just not getting the point that no lender wants to lend her money to buy an expensive vehicle. Keep on complaining loser. As far as, vehicle being cheap, they are cheap because of low profit margins that they discount dealerships keep. Franchise dealers don't have any different cars, we all buy cars from the auctions and service/maintain them and then sell them. You can sell 100 used cars in a month and you can expect to see 1 or 2 customers who want it all, lowest price, best warranty, best of everything, they want to break dealer's back, but dealers have to make some money as well. Good news is that most people don't get into this mindset and come out, check the cars, get them checked and then buy them. Thankfully, most people are good natured and not spiteful and wanting to destroy and slander other people's livelihoods/businesses. The ones that are bitter are bitter about everything in life because of their own failures.

Let me directly address the recent comments of Buyer Beware BS: First of all - Your dealership needs to focus on the following: better business practices, proper consumer disclosures and good customer service. Notice I used the term good customer service because you have to start somewhere! You continue to come on this forum to address my comments rather than deal with the underlying complaints of all potential customers who are interested in your products. If you will take the time to read all the comments posted on this forum about your business you will see that over 75% of them are negative. I did not start this forum and came across it while doing research much like all concerned potential customers. I personally love to give kudos to great businesses. It is never a wise choice to attack the character of a person without addressing the underlying facts of a situation. I have never filed a complaint against an auto dealership, You are the FIRST!! I have also never been turned down by the dealerships you have mentioned. In addition, If I determine that you are pulling credit bureaus without approved permission - you are in violation of a Federal law. Most intelligent people know that you cannot be gainfully employed at a major law firm with bad credit, had you done your research you would know this. The bottom line is that you are simply pissed because a Better Business Bureau Complaint was filed against your establishment after you tried to get over on me and after I caught wind of your shady business practices. Your continued efforts to diminish the unprofessional nature of your salespeople and bad business deals will not work. If you took the time to intelligently read my last comment you will see that I have since purchased a great luxury vehicle with better options and at a great price from Hennessy Lexus with Lexus financing and guess what I am SO happy! So once again your statements are all LIES! I will gladly provide the name of my salesperson to anyone who is looking for a great Lexus luxury vehicle. So halt the unintelligent comments and start working to make improvements in the previously states areas so other complaints are not filed with the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs.
