It is interesting to note that Roslyn was part of a chains of small towns from the east coast to the west that attracted many immigrants from the Balkans, eastern and southern Europe. My grandfather worked in the coals mines in Pennsylvania after immigrated from Serbia. Many Slavic workers were considered strong and able to perform the tasks in the coal mines. The Romans used Slavs "Slaves" because they were strong and could take the brutal treatment that the Romans dished out.

I lived in the Roslyn area for a decade. The town is charming and very rustic. The people are hearty and have great character. My five children went to school in Roslyn and had a great time.

Yeah, you gotta love this town ...
I moved to Roslyn with my family just three years ago, and I'm amazed at all the history this little town holds.

Hi David! Moved to Roslyn in 91, from Brooklyn, CT.
It reminded my of that movie "how green is my valley." And being that it's in the north country you feel removed from the rest of the country. I did some serious hiking the mountains and had encounters with cougars, bear and crazy people.
